The cartoon world of a real town

On our way after Hivefest, we decided to stop at a few places to rest on the long road. We drove until late in the evening. Our road was through Slovenia. After driving through Slovenia without stopping, we crossed the border, drove through the mountains of Austria and stopped in the town of Mautern in Steiermark where we rented an apartment.

The apartment was very beautiful, and quite large. Inside the apartment there was a large living room, a well-equipped kitchen and most importantly ☝🏻, something I haven't seen in quite a while - a bathroom. Yes, in Turkey this feature is not very popular, or does not exist at all, and in general, showers usually prevail in rented apartments.

So after our arrival we sat around for a while and went to sleep so that the next day we would have a lot of strength for the next long road, and to explore the town we stopped in. It was our first time in Austria, so it was interesting to explore the look and style of architecture.

The next day, after our eviction, we went for a walk around this town. As it turned out, our apartment was right next to the yellow bell tower, and when we left, it rang 12 times.

Walking around the bell tower, I saw a beautiful phenomenon. This aesthetic picture did not let me pass. On the abandoned doors of the bell tower, rose shoots twined around them, wrapping it completely through. For some reason, it reminded me of the fairy tale about Beauty and the Beast. The colors of the roses and the pale flesh wall go so well together. This place has such a magical aura.

Mautern itself is located in the very center of Styria between the Eisener Alps and the Niedertauern. This town had a strangely different atmosphere from all the other towns we visited. There were almost no people.

The houses here looked like something out of a fairy tale, colorful, with flowers, carvings, and looked so new, as if they were built yesterday. You know that type of house that we all draw on any type of landscape? Yes, that's exactly the shape of each of these houses. And this whole landscape looked like something out of a cartoon. One of the features of this town that gave it such a vibe was probably its layout. All the streets and houses were built very evenly, and clearly planned. There are also beautiful flower beds with different flowers. The two most impressive houses that I saw on one of the streets of this town, in my opinion, are a turquoise yellow one with yellow bricks and a brown one with a huge inscription on it, and four pots of red flowers on each window.

Walking further through the city, we could not help but notice more and more beautiful architecture on each street. With each step we saw from the side even more beautiful and interesting details that added zest to the city. Walking through the city, we were able to come across its town hall. The town hall building also looked as majestic and elegant as all the others, and most importantly, it was just as bright - yellow.

Opposite the town hall was a cute little fountain with crystal clear water inside, and it itself was made of beautiful stone material.

There was a lot of greenery in the city. On the corner of one of the streets, on the territory of the house, there is a small beautiful garden with many trees, flowers and thick grass. It smells so fresh and adds nourishment among these stone streets.

Also in the background of this town was a beautiful landscape created from a dense green forest of tall pine trees. The mountains were like big waves, flowing from one to the other. So diverse and green. It all starts with meadows and continues with high mountains and rocks. All this is complemented by large clouds hanging in a large pile over the town.

The atmosphere in this city is so calm and quiet. Some of the houses remind me of noble and expensive estates, and some - rural huts, which are usually lived in in the forest.

Although this city looks new, I have heard that there are many historical finds and old buildings here. For example, the Parish Church, which exists today, was built between 1442 and 1462, destroyed by the Turks in 1480, and then rebuilt in the late Gothic style. I think this is the yellow church that you can see in one of my photos, but I am not sure, because I could not find any more information about any of the churches that I saw in that city.

On one of the mountains I noticed a strange phenomenon. On one side of the mountain, it is completely covered with forest, and on the other side it is completely bare. I wonder if this is an unplanted part, or on the contrary, cut down?

This city impressed me with its unique style and quietness. After this beautiful walk, we set off to meet the next countries and cities. Along the way, we were accompanied by extraordinary views of forests and mountains.

Bye bye everyone! ⛪⛲🌳
