Food🍝 Nature🌲 and Citylife💃
Hello Hivers, in this post I would like to share with you a typical week-end in one of my favourite Italian cities: Bologna. When i decided to leave Naples, I was a bit confuse about where to go. Then a spent a week end in Bologna and everything was clearer. Its architecture is amazing, with almost 62 kilometers of arcades which are part of the UNESCO heritafìge made me fell in love with the city. In about 10 minutes from the city center you can go have an hike on the hill and stay a bit in contact with nature. To top it all, food and people are unbelievebly good.
But know, let's skip to the good part 🍝🌲💃!
Day 1
Our week end started with a beautiful hike on the hill, to reach the famous shrine of San Luca. It si one of the main attraction of the city becuase it can be easily reach from the city center walking along the arcade of Meloncello. Local people are normally going there to escape the daily caotic life and stay a bit in contact with nature.
From here you can take a breath of fresh air and have a look to the beautiful sourranding landscape. If you are interested you can even have a tour of the shrine.
The hike is a bit tiring if your a not used to it, but the view compensate everything.
Bologna is a young and multethnical city. For that we have to thank the prestigious University "Alma Mater studiourum", which every year, especially in the last one, attract a lot of students from all over the world.
Is the most ancient university in the world which is still active nowadays.
So, after the hike, we decide to go have an ethnic dinner at a friend house. She is from Iran and she prepared us a fabulos dinner:
Adas polo ba gooshte charkh karde which means: Lentils rice with minced meat.
The taste was amazing and what was impressive for me is how the 3 different flavours perfectly matched together.
After this amazing dinner, we decide to leave the nightlife of Bologna. After years of Covid restriction seemed a dream walking through the door of a disco club.
The club is called "Studio 54" and it situated in the city center. If you don't know it, it is very difficult to understand where is the entrance. It is in between a house and a barber shop. It is a small niche club but in which plays not so famous DJs. This make it more private and not so crowded and it is perfect to enjoy good music and have the proper "living space" to dance.
On our way home we had the chance to also appriaciate the silence that surround the city at that late hours
Day 2
The next day we were a bit tired so we decide to go out at dinner time.
In a typicl Bolognese's week end, the dinner in a local "Trattoria" is a must! So we went to "Trattoria da me" a quite famous place in which you can eat traditional Bolognese's dishes. The food is typacl but they are known to merge tradition with refinement.
We start with an apetizers based on cheese icecream and Crescentine, a very typical type of fried bread used as side dish.
After this delicious start, we order two Pasta plate. One with sausage and artichokes and the other with Friggione, a typical side made with onion and tomato sauce.
Everything was perfect and the taste amazing
Then, how to perfectly end a week end in Bologna?? With a couple of drinks in Via del Pratello
It is a really famous street full of Pubs and Restaurant. Both in winter and summer is the favourite haunt of lots of young people.
We decided to meet our friend at "L'altro Spazio", a really cool place with altrnative drinks and music
Our week end unfortunatelly came to an end, but many more will come descovering my new beautiful adopted city. I hope i passed on you a bit of the feelings Bologna has given to me in these years😊
