The beauty of North Sulawesi culture

in Worldmappin21 days ago (edited)

Hello fellow travelers! Are you guys the type that if you like a place, you will come back again and again? I am that type of person. Recently I visited TMII again, even though a few months ago I also went there with my husband. I really like going to TMII because I can walk around and see traditional houses. This is one of the ways I learn more about the customs and cultures of the various tribes in Indonesia. Every province in Indonesia has beautiful traditional houses and all of them I can see at TMII. Traveling around TMII is like training for traveling around Indonesia someday.

Platforms and traditional houses of North Sulawesi

One of the things I visited this time was a traditional house from the island of Sulawesi, namely North Sulawesi. When entering the anjungan area and the traditional house of North Sulawesi, I felt like I was greeted by the statue of the warriors, because in the front yard there were many statues of warriors that were very tall. Then to get to the Anjungan and the traditional house of North Sulawesi, we have to climb quite a lot of stairs. The anjungan and traditional house buildings are quite large and tall. I checked the second floor of the platform, and everything was made of wood. Unfortunately I couldn't see inside because there was a religious event, so I just looked around.

The traditional house is on the right side of the platform and there are three houses. North Sulawesi traditional houses are also made of wood. Like most traditional houses from the islands of Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi, the traditional house of north Sulawesi is also in the form of a stage. In fact, I think this is the tallest stilt house. The traditional house of north Sulawesi has a symmetrical design with two stairs at the front as the entrance. I've read that the underbelly of the house is usually used to store crops. It was also mentioned that the province of North Sulawesi has two traditional houses that have different characteristics and uniqueness. But since I didn't go inside the traditional house, I couldn't tell the difference.

Although my explanation is not detailed, I hope you still understand what I've said in my writing above. I hope that after reading my article, you will be eager to explore TMII and visit the platforms and traditional houses of North Sulawesi. Thank you so much for reading and have a great weekend!
