Alter Park is a name that is still quite unfamiliar to tourists even as well as locals in Da Nang city, because it has been abandoned for a long time deep in Son Tra Peninsula. It was reopened recently and I was lucky to visit it on a secluded afternoon last Saturday.
In the center of the park, there is a green lake surrounded by primeval forests. From the lake, there are trails leading to the old trees and into the sea, a great spot to watch the sunset.
You can choose to sit on a bench or swing in a certain corner of the park to relax and enjoy the scenery or hike the trails around the park to explore interesting places and enjoy the ambiance freshness of the forest.
The road to here is quite easy to find on google map, however, the way up here is so steep that the local authorities ban scooters, and you also need a motorbike with good brakes when going down. Driving on the roads here also brings joy when being able to enjoy the beautiful scenery on both sides of the road.
In my opinion the best time to come here is in the sunny afternoon, when you can fully enjoy the beauty of this park and watch the sunset over the sea. Let me know when you come to Da Nang, I will be happy to take you here.
