Hello dear friends of Hive!!!.

It is always nice to return to the place of your roots, the place where you keep the best memories and where the family welcomes you with open arms. A couple of weeks ago, after a long time, I had the wonderful opportunity to make a trip with my little family to El Hato a really charming and special town for me, located south of Merida State, Venezuela. Today I want to share this experience with you.

Our trip started from the center of Merida, my partner and I, we were very excited that our baby of 23 months, had the opportunity to be in contact with nature, El Hato, is approximately two hours from the city of Merida, by private car, but we traveled by bus to the town of Estanquez, in this place some relatives waited for us to take us to our wonderful destination.

El Hato, what a pleasure to be here again!

This place is characterized by a really fascinating climate, you arrive and you can immediately feel the change, here you feel pure and fresh air, the mornings are generally warmer and sunny, while in the afternoons you can feel how the fog and the cold embrace you.

El Hato, It is divided into 05 Main Sectors, my parents' house is located in the highest part, in the Sector called Los Pósitos, We can see that the road and roads are dirt, mainly clay, it seems that it has rained in recent days because there are quite a few gullies, caused by the drag of water.

This area of El Hato is a coffee-growing area, so in the midst of the mountains and landscapes that nature gives us to admire from this place, we can see large coffee plantations, along with other crops such as potatoes, cambur, pineapple and cassava.

We have arrived at my parents' house, I share with you their surroundings.

Visiting El Hato Casco Central

Beautiful landscapes surround this place, a perfect place to rest, forget about the daily routine, relax, walk and be in contact with nature and just what we did, we needed to treat ourselves to a few days like this. To admire the land, its animals and appreciate the work of the farmers who go out of their way to offer a good product, which feeds the entire population.

One afternoon together with my sister @karocont2011 and my niece, we decided, to walk and go to the central area of El Hato, but as I said before, my parents house, is in the highest area, so to get there you must walk about 30 min by a steep road, this would be an interesting experience, because it would be the first time, together with my baby and surely he could not walk so far. But it would definitely be worth it.

We arrived at this place where you can admire part of the Community and the imposing mountains that surround us, it was a sunny afternoon, so the view was beautiful, usually the thick fog would not let you appreciate this way the landscape.

We continued on our way and now we had on our left the shade of the trees in our favor, my son was happy, he was walking slowly but smoothly, he was excited about the walk and the animals he managed to observe along the way.

We are here !!!

I had not been here for several years, so it was impressive to see how many things have changed, the first thing I stopped to observe is this house, this house is known as the Altillo, a house of very old construction, despite its remarkable neglect is impressive as most of its walls are standing, becoming a heritage that reminds us how beautiful it was, a two-story house, with mud walls and Creole tiles, and wooden mezzanine slab.

The Plaza Bolivar is an ideal place, to spend a nice time, with a good company, a good topic of conversation and a few goodies, this makes me remember my adolescence, when all the cousins met at grandma's house and we spent every afternoon here until nightfall.

To see my son enjoying this place, was a wonderful feeling for me, since due to the pandemic situation, he leaves our house very little, so these days were of happiness for him, he could not hide his excitement and his desire to run from one place to another.

img_20210925_164728.jpg

The Bust of the Liberator is located in the central part of the square, on a truncated pyramid of clay bricks, which makes the structure very beautiful, it is also located in front of the Primary School so it is common to see in the mornings to sing the notes of the National Anthem and hoist the National Flag, here.

The facilities of the Plaza, are a bit neglected, which is unfortunate, but I heard that the community is organizing for its restoration, however, we spent a relaxing and fun afternoon.

It's dusk and we must return home, so we walk back, but now it will be more difficult, because the slope will not be in our favor, because as they say: "Going down the stones roll". But going up, it's another story.

To admire this landscape, it's worth it, to see the sunset and its contrast with the clouds and these mountains full of different shades of green, it's beautiful and I really appreciate every time I can enjoy this.
