- At just 48 kilometers (1 hour by car) from the the inn in Boca de Huérgano, we find the famous Cantabrian town of Potes.
To reach the town of Potes (Cantabria) from Boca de Huérgano (León), you have to take the N-621 road and drive for 1 hour through the winding Glorio mountain pass, which crosses the Cantabrian mountain range from SW to NE, with a maximum altitude of 1,609 meters.
- The day started with an iced black coffee at a bar and that Spanish omelette portion was on the house, since in León there's a lot of tapas culture and they usually invite you a tapa with every drink you have.
During the course through the aforementioned San Glorio mountain pass you will enjoy some beautiful landscape views, also being an environment of great wealth of fauna and flora, housing species such as brown bear, wolf, grouse, roe deer, deer, wild boar, fox, golden eagle, griffon vulture, squirrels and partridges.

My recommendation is to take the whole course of your trip through this mountain pass calmly, since accidents happen and if you fall off the cliff with your car or motorbike, you will hardly survive, due to the heights (in addition, there are signs that warn of this along the route of the mountain pass, especially focused on motorists).
Upon reaching the town of Potes, the first thing I did was to eat at "el Bodegón" restaurant (they currently have a ⭐4.6 rating on Google Maps and my personal rating was ⭐4), acclaimed for its good price-quality ratio and its famous "cocido lebaniego".

After eating I took a quiet walk through the old town of this medieval small village (1400 inhabitants) located in a strategic enclave where the rivers Deva and Quiviesa converge, surrounded by four valleys.
YouTube Short from the road where two of its bridges can be seen:
Potes town is a place to stay, at least a couple of days, and enjoy its history, its street markets and craft products but, although it was getting late and I didn't want to have to drive through the San Glorio mountain pass at night, and the most commong thing to do would have been to spend the night there, I decided to leave and return calmly to the town of Boca de Huérgano.
