Hi everyone...
After take you to Takayama Old Town, finally, I will take you to a very famous village, Shirakawa Go in Ogimachi. Yup, the itinerary after that place was Shirakawa Go or Shirakawa Village. It can not mentioned as close place because I need around 1 hours to reach Shirakawa Go.
When winter, Snow has not yet completely covered Tokyo, this area is already covered by Snow. This place is a village, even so, you can stay here because there are already many hostels and restaurants there. It is like a shopping center because you can go on a culinary tour and buy souvenirs in this Shirakawa village.
I could feel the temperature getting lower as our bus entered the Shirakawa area. A few kilometers from Shirakawa village, you can already see the mountains covered in snow. The cold air temperature will also make the car windows covered in dew.
I needed to wipe the glass next to the mini bus travel seat several times to be able to enjoy the snow that filled the right and left sides of the road. Although I have lived in Japan for a long time, this is my first time going to Shirakawa Go Village. I am excited to visit Shirakawa Go and playing snow there.
Walking around Shirakawa Village during winter like this is refreshing. It's like you're exercising in the middle of winter because as long as you walk around, you won't feel cold. Some visitors are even ready to queue for an ice cream cone, not hot tea.
I just walked around, enjoying the village atmosphere that still has a traditional touch in the middle of modern Japan. The mountains that are the backdrop of this village are also no less beautiful.
I saw many footprints in this thick pile of snow. This is a sign that people are very enthusiastic about playing snow in this area because it has a high thickness. Even so, this snow is still pure white, unlike thinner snow, it will look dirty by the dirt that sticks to the shoes.
It was so nice to have the chance to visit a village covered in snow and beautiful scenery of the mountains. I wish I could visit this village every winter.
Is Shirakawa Go your dream place in Japan? Or somewhere else that you expected more beautiful than this place?
