Takayama Bridge, Okayama - Japan

in Worldmappin17 days ago (edited)

Hi Travelers,

Let's go on a trip to Japan again, I will show you one of the favorite destinations for foreign tourists in Japan. It is Takayama Bridge located in Gifu Prefecture, precisely Okayama.

Takayama Bridge

Takayama Bridge is one of the many best bridges in Japan that has a distinctive feature, namely its red color. This is one of the destinations that is included in the mandatory itinerary of foreign travelers. Usually, tour guides will take tourists to visit or stop at this bridge before going to Takayama Old Town. This bridge at first glance does look ordinary, especially in winter, but if you are there for a long time, you will be presented with a very beautiful view.

Takayama Bridge was built to cross the Miyagawa River. When I arrived there in winter, I saw that part of the Miyagawa River was frozen. You could even see chunks of ice on each side.

The Japanese Rickshaw

In addition to this red bridge, around Takayama Bridge becomes interesting with the presence of the Japanese Rickshaw. You know that Japanese Rickshaw uses human power (men) not machines like rickshaws that we usually see in other countries. The drivers, drivers, look strong when they have to pull the rickshaw with two or three passengers. Then, the drivers don't seem to feel cold because some drivers don't wear long pants. What a strong!

The Miyagawa River

Look at the river water of Miyagawa River. The river water is very clean and looks refreshing. Unfortunately, when I visited, it was winter, so it was impossible to dive into the river while you needed several layers to keep your body warm. Besides, I'm not sure Miyagawa River is okay to be used as a water ride. I've never seen children in Japan bathing in the river.

Takayama Bridge is a very suitable and highly recommended place to be one of the places on your itinerary when visiting Japan, even though it is just a bridge. It is said that Takayama Bridge has its own history so that it has becomes a tourist destination. Maybe one of the reasons is because it is near the old city of Takayama.

So, when you will visiting Takayama Bridge?
