My last and unplanned little adventure in 2022 with my babies/buddy.

in Worldmappin2 years ago

Last December 2022 We are having our last topic on our lesson in Environmental science subject for this semester. On of our lesson is all about endangered species and protected areas in the Philippines and internationally. It's kind of discovery, because there's some kind of species that I often encountered however I'm not aware of its name and speculation. Funny right 😬 anyways so one time our teacher mentioned that here in Negros Occidental there is a place that was declared one of the protected area, and out of curiosity on how it looks, me and some of my classmates and circle of friends decided to go there to have a look.

and tadaaaaaaa. . . . .

"WELCOME TO TOMONGTONG MANGROVE ECO-TRAIL in EB Magalona Negros Occidental".

TOMONGTONG Mangrove ECO-TRAIL

Tomongtong Mangrove ECO-Trail has a long bridge made up of bamboos that serve as a way for you to pass by under the mangroves towards the beach. They have their restaurant's with different fresh seafood menus and a welcoming locals that greet you gracefully. Locals practice eco friendly and strictly implement it towards the visitors as plastics and other waste like bottles, straws and other more are not good for both beach and mangroves.

The one that brought us there is our great Ate (elder sister) Gelyn. We are lucky enough that it is near at her work place, so the travel expenses was solved, Actually Ate Gelyn was a manager of one of the poultry farm near at EB Magalona so in our way over there, we just hop on thier company vehicle. However, under some condition we need to woke up and get ready early. We set the call time 5:30 in the morning so that Ate Gelyn won't be late at her work knowing that we have 3hours to travel before we reach it. I took a short video of my friend Cyrus, how he cheerful he is during the ride.

Travel early in the morning, Cold wind is sureness to be felt because its already December. That's why on our way we got this brewed McCoffee to ease the coldness we've felt. Because it is our first time on this place and while enjoying the ride I forgot how many hours we've traveled, talking , laughing and even singing along the way is what we do.

A cold breeze of air came from green mangroves together with a sound of water splashing on the beach is refreshing for this weekend after of so much projects and activities in school. Taking pictures is one of the remembrance we often do, so here I comes😁

One day is not enough to explore on that place but because it's unplanned we need to go home after. After those exploration I realized and understand how that place belongs to the protected areas and how locals valued it. It serve as the treasure of EB Magalona and I wish to visit more protected areas also the protected species.

"Beauty and importance can't be seen unless it's slowly fading and times will come that preservation and restoration is needed and the only option" Wishing that what we witness today can be seen also in the near future:)
