Ie Suum : Helpful Hot Spring, Feel Interesting, but Poor Managing

Hello #hive and #travel lovers..

Aceh Besar has become one of the most popular tourist destinations, apart from the development of new tourist attractions, the cost is not expensive, and has a short distance from the capital city. One of the tourist destinations that I will introduce this time is the Hot Springs attraction named "Ie Suum". This tourist spot is located in the hinterland of Aceh Besar, Specifically, Ie Suum, Krueng Raya, Mesjid Raya District. I can explain, the name "Ie Suum" is a local language (Acehnese Language) which means Hot Water. The distance to this place is relatively close, only about 45 kilometers or about an hour's drive from Banda Aceh City.**

When you come to this place, alone or with your family, you will feel the sensation of soaking in hot water, and of course, you will be treated to extraordinary pleasure while enjoying the beautiful hills that surround this place. What you see in these photos is not smoke from burning garbage or cigarette smoke in front of the camera, but what you see is smoke coming out of waterways from the mountain. This place has now been used as a geotourism object.

By the way, actually here or near this place, there is no volcano but did you know that this hot water comes from Mount Seulawah Agam which is one of the active volcanoes in Aceh. If you look at the map of this place and the distance from the volcano is very far, then this might be a sign of how powerful it would be if there was an explosion from the volcano. According to information from the local government here, this hot spring appears through the path in the bend zone of the Horizontal Fault and this is the only place that has just been introduced to the public as a tourist spot. Actually, there are many other hot springs here.

As I said earlier, this tourist spot has been used as one of the geotourism in Aceh. The goal is that later it can be used as a place for research and education about the earth and other related activities. Then to get here, how? It's very easy. To reach this place, first, you can go through the Banda Aceh Krueng Raya route and don't have to worry about getting lost because there is only one path through this road, before arriving at Krueng Raya you take the path to the right, and follow the signs to this place. The second route is through the road to Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport towards the hills of Blang Bintang, past the Bukit Bintang tourist spot and you will find it easy because there are directions to the location of this bathing place. For more details, you can use google maps.

Is it safe for children? Naturally. This hot spring only has a temperature of around 80 - 85 degrees Celsius, and although the volume of water is not too large, the storage facilities in this place are quite good and the distribution is adjusted by the officers there. Here, there are three permanent pools for children, and two pools for men and women. In each pool, there is a guard on duty. Don't ever act as you please here, the allotment of the pool here is divided according to gender except for children. The staff here will not hesitate to tell you to get out of the bath if you don't obey the rules. And this has become the agreement of local residents who are the holders of responsibility in this place.

Because of its many properties, this place is also a favorite of sick people such as easily tired, people with pinched nerves, often tingling, gout, and several types of diseases that are believed to be cured if they do therapy continuously in this place. If you come on a weekend, hundreds of local tourists will certainly continue to arrive because they already know the benefits of soaking in this hot water. In some studies, it is stated that the sulfur content and other minerals from geothermal water can cure some skin diseases. The warmth of hot water can also be used for bathing, it is believed to normalize stiff muscles and as a sedative therapy.

That's why this place is open 24 hours a day. Most visitors don't come during the day, but most of them stay here and at night they warm up by bathing here. Btw, there is a small hut that is used for sauna bathing too. Provide drinking water before entering so that you are not dehydrated.

How about the entrance ticket here? I can tell you, to enter this place a ticket is pegged between ten thousand rupiahs to fifteen thousand rupiahs. This fee is included with the cost of parking the vehicle. Meanwhile, each ride and entrance ticket to the swimming pool is priced at around five thousand. Fortunately, at the source of this hot spring, you are not charged at all. You are free to take pictures anywhere, you can even boil eggs here in this hot spring. I see some visitors are very happy with it.

About the management of this place.

Yes, this is a complicated thing that is difficult for me to explain. Why? I came to this place twice, but I didn't find any significant change in the management of this place. I don't think the manager of this place has a good vision. However this place has become a favorite place, but the facilities here have not been updated. It could be due to the lack of attention from the local government, or the benefits from its management are not returned in the form of additional facilities.

Some of the things that I highlighted were the cleanliness of the toilets and changing rooms and the location of the gazebo which was irregular and tended to be outdated. Seeing the many benefits of this place and my prediction that this place will still be visited in the future, it should be directly proportional to the existence of good facilities and infrastructure. Hopefully, this homework can be heard by the Local Government which has a big responsibility in managing tourist attractions, and awareness from the management is needed to immediately fix this. The more comfortable it is, the more benefits you will get. That's what I think.

Thank you @poshtoken. Appreciate

isn't 80 - 85 degrees too hot for a shower?

No, it's save. because you don't have to in it immediately, you must do it slowly. First, you are watering your foot, and then your body and then you can swim it at 80 - 85 celsius safely.

Yay! 🤗
