I'm going to start this post confessing that it makes me a little nervous to write it. I am a person of few words, I like more practical things, but here I am, trying. I want to share with you my experience and show you a little bit of what it is like to visit Chinatown in Buenos Aires, a place that I frequent quite often and that, with each new visit, I love even more.
Located in the neighborhood of Belgrano, in the city of Buenos Aires, Chinatown consists of two main streets. One of them is full of stores, where you can find all kinds of Asian products, from souvenirs to exotic ingredients for cooking. The other street is dedicated to gastronomy, with restaurants and cafes that have unique styles and an incredible offer of flavors to discover.

From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere envelops you. The first thing that catches your attention is the imposing entrance arch, decorated with two majestic dragons at each end. A curious fact is that tourists often touch its claws in search of good luck and also try to find a small black ball inside the dragon's mouth, which symbolizes wisdom. Many even leave money inside the mouth as a kind of offering.

On weekends, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, Chinatown comes alive. The streets are closed to car traffic so that people can walk comfortably and enjoy everything the place has to offer. Going through each store is a real temptation, because I always want to take something with me. Not to mention the supermarkets.... It's a real torture to decide what not to buy! I love to see the shelves full of Asian sweets and snacks, I always discover something new that I would like to try.
In addition to commerce, street entertainment is another attraction. In the middle of the street you can find people dancing, performing magic acts or pretending to be living statues. And if you are lucky enough to visit Chinatown on a special date, such as the Lunar New Year, you can enjoy incredible shows, with traditional dances, parades and cultural displays.

When it comes time to choose a restaurant, the decision is not an easy one. Everything looks delicious, and many places have incredible aesthetics that make them even more attractive. There are perfect options to have a coffee with friends and talk for hours, and at each meeting we choose a new place, which allows us to discover and try different flavors. The gastronomic offer is quite varied, with Asian food restaurants from different regions, as well as Mexican and Oriental cuisine options.
It is worth noting that the restaurant area is a relatively recent addition to Chinatown. It opened just a couple of years ago and has been so well received that it has gradually grown and consolidated itself as an essential part of this iconic place. The truth is that I hope to return soon to continue exploring and trying new flavors.

Nightlife in Chinatown is simply magical. With its vibrant lights illuminating the streets, the atmosphere is filled with a special energy. It is the perfect place to stroll leisurely, enjoy a different kind of dinner and be surprised by the variety of bars and cozy corners where you can share a drink or a beer with friends. Undoubtedly, it is a place where every night can become an unexpected adventure, full of good times and new stories to tell.
If you haven't visited Chinatown yet, I recommend that you do, day or night, there is always something exciting to discover

Hey, I didn't know that there was a Chinatown in Buenos Aires, maybe there is in all America. Here in Venezuela I know of 2 Chinatowns, small but they are of that style. Greetings !
