Since the pandemic, my college pals and I haven't gotten together. Two years ago when the online classes began, we were in our second year college, and some of my classmates returned to their hometowns, leaving only a few of us here in Cebu. Fortunately, one of my Tacloban, Leyte friends returned to Cebu to run some personal errands, and so we decided to go to the beach on the spur of the moment. We've always loved the beaches in the southern side of Cebu, so we selected Badian without making any reservations cause what do most people say, "Best moments happen when they're unplanned".
When we arrived, we sought for a place to stay for the night and we're fortunate enough to find this place called Magic Beach Resort with rooms that has two queen sized beds and air conditioning for only Php2500/$50 per night that would fit us all six.

So this is the first time that we're gonna swim and bond together after 2 years of not being in touch. As a result, we are ecstatic to be able to touch and appreciate the sea, which we really miss.
And of course, we wouldn't pass up the opportunity to take pictures.
It was a very enjoyable experience for all of us, and I relished every second of it. This pandemic has caused us a great deal of stress, and being here is exactly what we needed. We were so engrossed in the moment that we forgot how quickly time passed, so we returned to our room, changed our clothes, and went to buy some foods for dinner.
We got a full roasted chicken and pork belly, which are the foods we'll need to fuel ourselves for the following day's adventures (which, of course, we still don't know about because we just really hate planning things hahahaha).
So the next day, we got up early because our check-out time was 12:00 noon and we needed to have some more fun to make the trip worthwhile. So, when we were dipping our selves in the water, a man approached us and asked if we are interested in riding their inflatable whale boat, which seems to be fun because we can literally hear their customers' screams all the way from the shore when riding it. Since we didn't know what else to do during that time we decided to go for it. So we put on our life jackets and jumped on their boat.
This is my first time riding this thing and at the same moment, I am both terrified and excited.
It was really fun and I seem to feel like being a child again hahaha. I finally see why people yelled when they rode it. We were enjoying and screaming our hearts out until the jet ski rider that pulls the boat abruptly turned right, the boat flipped over, and we all tumbled. It was completely unexpected, and the funny part is that we were trying to figure out how to go back up to the boat. So we just asked the guys in charge to allow us to stay there for a bit so that we could enjoy the depths of the water.
Our time is running out, so we must return, and the fight to get back up to the boat begins and when I say struggle I am not seriously not joking cause when you pull someone up from the water towards the boat you must control the boat to not flip over and there are six of us.
Though it was a struggling thing it is still sure was the funniest part of that experience. It was almost 12 noon when we came back to our room, so we suddenly bathed and changed our clothes to go back home to the city.
It just goes to show that time flies when you are having so much fun. It was a weekend that I will always treasure, a weekend with a lot of stories to tell, and a weekend well worth the sun burns.
