“NINIFALA” Spring

in Worldmappin3 years ago

Hello my dear friends...

We meet again in my story.
Have a nice day.

This time I will review my experience to one of the tours on this island.

Can you guess it? Yes, we'll be back to talk about the waters. Mmmmmmmmmm but this time it's not the sea guys. Then what is it?

In Maluku, precisely in the village of Piliana, there is a spring that is considered sacred to the local population. Its name is Ninifala spring.

The Ninifala spring is a river-shaped stream whose water is blue, with the source of the spring coming from within the rock that forms this river. To reach this location of Ninifala, we need about 2.5 hours by road from Masohi. The location is at the entrance to Piliana Village.

Ninifala visitors usually come from local residents, or tourists who visit the Maluku Islands, both domestic and foreign tourists. Besides being famous for the Ninifala spring, Piliana Village is also famous as the entrance to climbing Mount Binaya, one of the 7 summit in Indonesia. So usually the climbers who just came down from Mount Binaya and arrived at Piliana Village, will visit this river to just soak and spoil the eyes after being tired on the way.

Maybe we are used to seeing or seeing springs, but Ninifala is not just a spring in general. How come?

Ninifala spring has another name, namely the Jodoh River (Sungai Jodoh). The local community gave the name to the spring as the Jodoh River because it is said that the surrounding community had a belief that if a pair of lovers visited this spring together, they would have a match and if those who visited did not have a mate, they would soon have a match.

In addition, ninifala is considered sacred because of the unusual source of this spring. As I said above, this spring comes from stone. This spring is different from other springs in that it has a turquoise color and if we pay close attention, this spring emits small water bubbles like foam on the surface of the river that emits smoke. Like when we cook hot and boiling water, but the water in this spring is not hot, but very cold and fresh. In fact, it is said that many visitors are curious to try drinking the water and it is said that it tastes like mineral water, but has a different sensation. Like there are health effects after drinking or soaking in this spring.

Ninifala is a water healing tour. Generally, visitors who come here aim to soak and meditate while enjoying the peace and tranquility at the location, but not infrequently those who go there just swim, play in the water or take selfies. The situation around Ninifala is still natural and forested. Close to the village's main road access but not noisy because there are not many passing vehicles. Visitors here are quite crowded when on holidays or long weekends (before covid 19). So for friends who like and are comfortable with silence, it is recommended to come on weekdays. Admission to this location is inexpensive and very affordable. This tourist spot is managed by the village government with a system that is still simple and is maintained directly by the people of Pilliana Village, and is one of the economic sources of the Pilliana Village community.
