I wish I had an underwater camera for the rainbow of fish beneath me as I snorkeled one afternoon--as well as that 4-foot barracuda lying still near the water's surface. I saw it, came up to adjust my mask, and when looking back underwater in its direction, the barracuda ghosted me. Probably jetted off to eat one of those colorful fish.
Well, back on land, there were birds along the beach and lizards further inland:
And most inland of all--along the backroads upon which my rental car protested with squeaks and bounces--there was this trip's most exotic animal literally crossing my path:
Another four-footer: some kind of python lazily slithering back into the jungle.
National Geographic photographer, I am not. But these are still fun:
BONUS WILDLIFE: Not an animal, but in the tropics the swiftly growing trees do not wait for the barbed wire to move.
