Hello there! This is @fernwehninja, and I am an adventurous individual who enjoys exploring new places outside of my comfort zone. Thank you for visiting my page! I will share my thoughts and experiences on various activities, providing you with sincere and honest reviews.
Unveiling a Whimsical World of Contrasts
The Upside Down, Amsterdam
Indeed, we are proudly reporting our ageless inner child in the world of art, fantastic contrast, and somewhat magical encounters in pursuit of discovering ourselves.
Invited a friend of mine who adores exploring the other side of Amsterdam, away from the architectural aspect of the city, canals, cafes, and Red Light District hmmm I must say not the ordinary, but something fun-loving, photo-worthy, and obviously to show-off and share our moments we took at The Upside Down Amsterdam.
How to get there from Amsterdam Central Station
Metro
Take a 7-minute ride on the M52 Metro towards Station Zuid stop at Europaplein and then walk for 2 minutes. The location is easily accessible through Google Maps and is located right in front of the crossing when you go out of the metro.
Car
Considering the limited availability of parking spaces in the city center, it could take up to 17 minutes to reach the location. Therefore, I do not strongly recommend it, plus the expensive parking costs.
Opening Hours
Daily: 9.30 am to 21.00
Tickets
Regular: €24
Children below 3 years old: FREE
Kids from 3 to 17 years old: €17.95
CJP Card (Dutch Cultural card): €21.20 (Make sure to bring this card with you)
I Amsterdam City Card: €18.71
- Friday and Saturday special ticket €29.99
The cocktail night is held every Friday and Saturday at 5 O'clock! You can access the whole experience and savor a lovely cocktail in their cafe with this combo ticket.
Keep in mind that no alcohol is allowed for those under 18. If you are underage, they've got you covered with their mocktails, so need not worry!😊
In addition, you can also avail vouchers and discount codes which is a perfect money saver for you.
It's important to note that booking online can save you 3 euros. We didn't know this and ended up paying 27 euros when we purchased our ticket at the kiosk.
The Upside Down Cafe
Upon entering, the friendly staff will welcome you and provide a brief overview of the regulations. Once your ticket is scanned, you can securely store your belongings in a locker.
We went there at around 2 in the afternoon, it was not crowded, but we were so hungry, 😂 so we had some snacks and smoothies at their cozy cafe first.
The Experience
Before visiting a place, I usually check their website for more information. I look at photos and reviews to see if it's worth spending. While browsing online blogs, I discovered that Upside Down Amsterdam changes its theme yearly according to the season. I find this concept brilliant because it offers something new and exciting to look forward to on every visit. Furthermore, a big possibility is that I will highly recommend it to anyone who has an interest in photography, loves to have fun, or desires unique content.
Our first encounter is the smiley wall gateway. Wouldn't it be awesome to start your Upside-down journey with a smile? WOOOOT!! WHY NOT?! 😁♥️
Well, inside the smiley wall gateway, there is a dark bridge illuminated with purple lights to enter the other spots. I was standing on that bridge and I had this dizzy feeling because the background seemed like rotating upside down. I went out as I was not very comfortable with the movements.
Private Jet Getaway
Just right next to the smiley gateway, is the Upside Down Private Jet Theme which is one of my favorites!! It is simple inside but hey you can strike a pose with sophistication and enjoy feeling the ride in a luxury setup! 😁👏💃
There are camera timers available in every room. You just need the QR Code from your ticket and scan that for unlimited captures.
In this area, one can dress up as a stewardess and they offer costumes to wear. Additionally, there are some suitcases available for use.😄😁
Fun at the Ball Pit
We are young at heart but psychologically mature. Finding people who share similar interests is a great way to add laughter and enjoyment to our lives. I find it incredibly attractive! 😊
Karaoke and fun shot at the ballpit 😍
Interactive Installations
Experience interactive backgrounds that inspire playfulness and challenge perception. They feature colorful masterpieces with catchy lights that mirror your every move. This creative hotspot is a must-visit.
Uplifting Statements
How do you feel lately? How was your mood today? What motivates you in life? What's something interesting that energizes you? Can you share something surprising? 😊
As you walk past the brightly lit luxe walls, you'll notice various quotes about life, happiness, and inspiration. Take a moment to read them and see which one resonates with you!
Dynamic Scenes
The Netherland's Pride: The Bike Ride
Given its reputation as the world's cycling capital, Amsterdam is widely famous for its bike traffic jams. No doubt the Upsidedown, featured this as one of their photo-worthy themes.
I had to show some shots I made at Amsterdam's city's core, proudly reporting its artistic landscape, and showcasing its strong connection with cycling. How could one resist capturing its beauty in art?!
Barbie Wonderland
Come and choose your fashion! Tons of fun and cool clothes are ready for you from head to toe. What's your style? 👚👒👟
Message Swings
What are your thoughts? Mood for the day? Something to Celebrate? Well, I find it striking how you can customize and share it in the message swings. Write on!
Do I recommend it? Yes, if you enjoy taking beautiful portrait photographs with different themes for each season. It's best suited for teenagers, social media influencers, bloggers, vloggers, and those with a passion for art. Just wanted to mention that the tickets are a bit pricey for me, but if you're up for checking out other cool areas, then go for it! You should definitely give it a try and have some fun.❤️🙃
Love tons,
