Millions of years ago, in the Cafayate Ruins, Argentina, an ancient ocean and volcanic activity created a unique landscape. Its reddish ochre hue evokes a resemblance to Mars.
Immerse yourself in the geological history of this fascinating place where time reveals itself in every rock formation, through photographs and memories of a wonderful trip some years ago.
Castles, rock formations or geoforms resulting from water erosion and waterfalls many, many, many years ago.
This is one of those images that makes me think that we are just a small point in time with such a fragile, short and temporary existence, that invites me to reflect on what kind of footprint I am leaving in the here and now and take advantage of every minute.
La Yesera is a rock formation originated by layers of sediments and various minerals superimposed in different geological eras and where it has been studied that an ocean could have existed millions of years ago.
Its colours are a sign of the constant, persistent and amazing work of nature.
Some of the fantastic landscapes of reddish, copper and ochre colours, dreamy postcards that you can find, not on Mars but in Northern Argentina.
Cafayate is one of those wonderful places where you leave your footsteps but your footprints are erased.

🇪🇸:
