Orongorongo Track Weekend 😎

This weekend I πŸ™„ detoxed some internet! πŸ˜‚

Location, New Zealand! - next to Wellington (here)

Then somewhere into the track...

Eventually reaching "almost the end of the track" you reach the river... a 2-hour (easy ride) walk... (if you walk fast, it is less, maybe 1h30m, or if you run, 1h or less)

Eventually, you reach a very wide area of water catchments... a place that gathers lots of water when there are intense rain days or for long periods of time.

Then if you go around this place in a 1-2km range, you can see stuff like this...

Northen Rata trees! Trees that get strangled over many decades in NZ...

These were not the best examples, but there are many if you search online. Usually looks like two separate trees joining together (not because they want to, but instead by force)!

This was taken from a 50m cliff... from the river bed.

And the way back...

For most of this track, you will have no cell phone coverage... 😎

And me, halfway back! (from this place with coverage)

Sort: Β

I love paths like this!

There are so many more places... even better than this... but I get what you mean... when walking these places you barely have time to "enjoy" every particular place, so doing it often, and slower, makes a huge difference.

The point is, having fun!

Looks like a place my girl and I would !LUV! We like doing trekking and exploring nature :)

We found a brave NZ girl bringing her own wood even to a cabin! It was an amazing mood...

People here are worth Powering UP! Whatever token!

The respect is powerful! I am thinking of bringing my kids more often with me soon...

Wood to make a fire or to build the cabin itself? In the latter case, dang, impressive!

Beautiful pics

Tks, they don't do any justice when compared with IRL

Jungle experience has always been special and memorable, I also try to find similar places in my city and visit them.

In NZ... jungle is called... "bush" =)
