Visiting Mochima National Park—Venezuela

in Worldmappin3 years ago (edited)

Hello travelers!

It's great checking all the posts out here, and feeling like exploring the world through a screen.

That's why I wanted to contribute sharing with you my recent familiar trip to one of my favorite places in my country, Venezuela. :)

It is called Mochima National Park. It is located on the northeastern zone of the country, specifically between Anzoátegui and Sucre states. This park was established on December 1973, and since then, takes part of a long list of +40 national parks Venezuela holds.

So, my family came up with the idea of getting together as it had been a while since the last time we went to the beach. Our final decision was visiting Mochima. And, it was definitely a good choice! Mochima has a town where all the tourists might rent an inn and take their boats to explore its aquatic zones as we did.

I must confess Mochima's beaches are among my favorite natural destinations in Venezuela. I have been visiting them since I am a child (good memories) and there haven't been a time I don't end up feeling both relaxed and recharged. Its fabulous marine ecosystems and aquatic activities/sports (scuba diving, kayak, wakeboard) immerse you in a peaceful state of mind you hardly feel anywhere else.

Maybe this is why many tourists from other parts of the country, and even foreigners, choose this Park over others to spend their holidays.

That time we went to Maritas Beach, which is one of the closest to the town and one of the most popular among people. It is usually a calm, cool and crystal clear beach, where all the family can enjoy itself fully without major concerns.

My best pose that day haha

A family picture at the beach. There are not many more, as we really minded taking long baths, playing around and filling our bellies in the process (going to the beach always makes you feel hungryyy) .

We returned to the town totally satisfied near sunset. However, the youngest wanted more and then they went for dives at the dock.

Here is my final shot from that day. I think it summarizes Mochima experience. One you should try some time.
