Bachkovo Monastery is located only about 10 km away from the largest unincorporated town in Bulgaria - Asenovgrad. A larger city is Plovdiv, which is located 25 km from the monastery. So, the distance we had to travel was not much.

And the fact that we visit this place in autumn makes it even more beautiful. The trees wear different colours, the predominant ones being yellow, red and brown. Each time one sees a carpet in front of them.

In it there is an icon of the Virgin and Child. If you search the internet for information about this icon, you will find that it is the one that is considered miraculous. Even today many people stood in front of it, sharing their wishes and praying to the icon to make them come true. We also prayed, mostly for health and prosperity.

The church is very rich in icons and frescoes. Right in the centre, at the highest point, is a painting of Jesus.

After leaving the church we headed to the museum, which is located in another part of the monastery complex and to reach it you will need to climb stairs located near the refectory.

След като излязохме от църквата се насочихме към музеят, който е разположен в друга част на манастирския комплекс и за да стигнете до него ще е необходимо да се качите по стълби, разположени в близост до трапезарията.
In this part of the complex there is another church and a dovecote. Unfortunately the museum was closed and we were not able to visit it. However, we promised ourselves to visit it the next time we come to Bachkovo Monastery.

В тази част на комплекса има още една църква и гълъбарник. За жалост музеят беше затворен и не успяхме да го посетим. Обещахме си обаче следващия път, в който дойдем до Бачковския манастир да го посетим.
On the way out of the Bachkovo monastery, you will find a path which, after a short climb, leads to a small chapel from which the view is simply amazing.
No matter how exhausted you are I highly recommend you walk those 300 meters. It's definitely a place where you can capture unique shots. Our walk did not end there, on our way back to Asenovgrad we also visited Asen’ Fortress, which we will tell you about in tomorrow's blog.

На излизане от Бачковския манстир, пред вас ще се открие една пътечка по която може след кратко изкачване да стигнете до малък параклис, от който гледката е просто невероятна.
Колкото и да сте изтощени силно ви препоръчвам да извървите тези 300 метра. Определено е място, на което може да заснемете уникални кадри.
