Hello, dear Hivers! Another day, another adventure as the writers love to say! ✍️

In today’s post I would like to take you on a hike with me to Golyam Beglik Dam and Pirin National park! Believe me, you will be extremely surprised by what beauties are around us! Mother nature definitely surprises us every day with her wonderfully landmarks!

Like most landmarks, reservoirs, and towns in Bulgaria, the Golyam Beglik Dam was also named after a Soviet leader from the previous century. Originally this dam was named - Vasil Kolarov! A prominent Bulgarian communist leader! After the fall of the communist regime in Bulgaria, the dam was renamed Golyam Beglik. This beautiful dam is located in the Rhodope Mountains! And to be more precise - in the Western Rhodopes!

It is in this beautiful place that the Beglika Fest takes place in the summer. In 2021 it will take place between 22.09-29.09. If you are one of the lucky ones who manage to visit it for the rest of your life, you won't regret it!

What is this fest all about? Well to be honest I haven't had the chance to attend yet, but I hope if the epidemiological situation this year allows, I will take the opportunity.
If anyone is willing we could even form a group and go together. :)

From there we headed straight to the Trastenaya hut. Located in the Western Stara Planina Mountain, it attracts hundreds of hikers every year. It is located on the infamous route from Mt Kom to Cape Emine on the Black Sea.

The capacity of the hut is not small at all. About 25-30 people can be accommodated in it. As a furnishing the whole hut is in very good condition. To get to the hut Trysteneya there are a lot of possibilities.

One of them is along a dirt asphalt road from Bov station. And the second more famous route is through the village of Lakatnik. But for both routes you will need at least 3-4 hours to reach the hut. In one case - 7 km, in the second - 12 km.

Lackatnik rocks are located near Sofia, on the left bank of the longest river in Bulgaria - the Iskar river! A unique creation of mother nature. Old limestone rocks that attract climbers from all over the world.

img_9539.jpg

They are nestled in the Iskar Gorge, where nature has still preserved its pristine charm.

img_9540.jpg

They will attract you not only with their external charm, but also with the many caves that hide in them. If I am not mistaken, their number amounts to nearly 100.

Wherever you decide to go in Bulgaria, you will be fascinated by the incredibly beautiful nature and sights. These three places I showed you in today's post are also not different from that statement.

Ani of our most recognized Bulgarian authors - Aleko Konatantinov once said:

“Get to know your motherland, to fall in love with it!”
Even though I bring those patriotic feelings in me, every time I visit some new place in my country my love for it grows bigger and bigger…

Hope you enjoyed my post! Thank you for your attention!
