If you've heard of Bohol, then this adds another one-of-a-kind place to the collection. Whenever the word Bohol is mentioned, one would immediately associate it with Chocolate Hills and tarsiers. But, behold-this place holds some breathtaking secret treasures within it. One such treasure is Can-umantad falls-cascading beauty in the quiet countryside. It felt like a treasure discovered on my trip being at this place, like a secret oasis.
The Initial Impression at Can-umantad Falls
Reaching Can-umantad Falls found me nothing but bewitched by its wonder. It is from a pretty deep thin limestone wall and so melodiously flows, with a thin arc into the jungled-laden surroundings. The water pipes fall, sounded very lightly, creating for me another quiet escape from the busy world. With its bottoms-filled pool, the falls reflect pure skies in blue-green hues enticing even more people to come and bask in its natural cool.
It felt as though a nature magazine just puffed out and was splayed out before me. Raw and untouched-very refreshing to the senses. Those stunning falls together with the really alive rich jungle have made me feel like I have fallen into paradise.
What Makes Can- Umantad Falls Unique?
Standing against the record of being the tallest waterfall in Bohol, Can-umantad Falls stands at a height of around 60 feet and is never the same as any other falls because it is three-tiered, which is its most distinctive characteristic. A particular flight of water as it flies down each tier creates a very magical sight especially when it glitters in sun rays.
The great thing about the falls is how virgin they are regarding commercialization. Have the power to entice one to feel, hear, and so much more-from fresh air to a peaceful surrounding and yes, even a stillness felt here.
What caught my attention even more were all those charming rock stacks that were formed right at the foot of the waterfall by the hands of some tourists. This is very much personalizes how individual or personal this place looks and shows how much the people cared for the beauty of nature in a certain area.
What to Do While at Can-umantad Falls
You could do quite a lot in this prime real estate known as Can-umantad Falls. However, perhaps the best thing is to just swim in its refreshing waters in that lovely pool. The shallows are perfectly safe for everyone. Well, I also got in nature's company, but what can be said? With the beautiful rushing of water, a border of surrounding forest, and clear blue sky above.
For me, Can-umantad Falls is a place where you can simply commune with Mother Nature. It is the most appropriate place to relax, contemplate, and rejuvenate. The trail leading to the falls is a gift in itself, giving the hiker pretty snaps of the countryside.
Why visit Can-umantad Falls
This superb moment on Can-umantad Falls is indeed a few pillars of my entire Bohol experience. It is much more than mere seeing; it's all about the feeling of nature at its best experience, particularly in this picturesque and soothing environment that nature bestows on us.
Can-umantad Falls is one of those places everyone should have in their travel notebook when you want to busy yourself escaping the touristy places and spend some time in the folds of nature. It is the kind of place that makes you human for a moment, connected to earth.
How to Get Into Can-umantad Falls
It is an absolute hassle all through having Can-umantad Falls worthy of visits. I took a trip from Tagbilaran City, which is the biggest city in Bohol, for about two and a half to three hours travel time. The adventurous types can rent a motorbike for that purpose.
Can-umantad Falls is found in the small town of Candijay, Bohol. Access routes leading into the place are paved up to the last dirt run. Its bumpiness is more than compensated by the picturesque views of scenery after lush countryside landscapes.
On the designated parking area, there was a small trail that led to the waterfall. It was an easy hike with stairs leading up toward the site, and natures gift had proved to be a good sum of the anticipation building in between. Alternative travelers could join local tours or hire habal-habal for designated area transports. They are also known for their friendliness and a willingness to help point you out your way.
Conclusive Thoughts
Can-umantad Falls is a little special place that requires a little finding or searching to achieve. It might take quite a bit of travelling before getting there, but the reward at the end is what will tell you why the journey was worth it. This whole place feels magical, with a huge gushing waterfall into a tranquil pool below.
If there ever happens to be a time to find someone in Bohol, it is to witness Can-umantad Falls. Not only a tourist place, it is also for an escape into nature and memories to last a lifetime.
