Hello Hivers!

Last year, on July 2023, I had the opportunity to do a trip for the first time at Hagimit Falls in Samal Island together with my relatives, and I will never forget it. It felt like stepping into a paradise of nature beauties as soon as I entered the space. Everything was so peaceful with the sound of water, the cool breeze and the greens. Let me tell you about this fabulous land.

The Falls and Its Beauty

Hagimit Falls is not a single large waterfall but a chain of small waterfalls and pools. I listened to the soothing sound of water as it flowed over rocks. The pools of water are absolutely crystal clear and so refreshing with their bluish-green color. I couldn’t help but step into the water.

There were some places for visitors to sit down and relax and just enjoy the view. Others were lounging on boulders, soaking in the serene vibes.I saw that the water wasn’t too deep, so it’s safe for kids and for those who aren’t strong swimmers.

Exploring the Surroundings

I walked around for a while and explored the place. Bamboo & wooden bridges linking various areas in the place. I went over one of the bridges to see the falls better. Or the way that you can see how the water falls over each step like a staircase of water.

The trees surrounding Hagimit Falls provide shade so it is not too hot even in daytime. There were also scattered picnic tables and cottages where families and groups could sit to enjoy their meals. It is clean here, and the staffs will ensure if you follow the rules to maintain the beauty of the place.

A Place to Relax and Refresh

Hagimit Falls is one of those places people wont mind sharing with you except for the fact that it is so peaceful. It didn’t seem crowded or noisy, even with other visitors around.I found an area by the water, sat down, and listened to the sound of the falls. It was so soothing, that I could feel all of my stress melting away.

It was cool and refreshing water. I then went for a swim, and that was so lovely. The water felt so clean and natural, and it was a perfect way to cool off on a hot day. If you go to Hagimit Falls, I highly recommend swimming in the water.

How to Get There

Hagimit Falls sits in Penaplata, Samal Island, and you can reach it without much trouble. To start, head to Sasa Wharf in Davao City and hop on a ferry to Babak Wharf on Samal Island. The boat ride doesn't take long and won't break the bank. After you land, you have options to get to the falls. You can jump in a tricycle, climb on a habal-habal (motorbike), or drive a car if you have one. The road to get there is in good shape, and the trip lasts about 20 to 30 minutes. If you're not sure where to go, don't hesitate to ask around. The locals love to help out and will point you in the right direction. The journey itself is easy on the eyes and adds to the fun of the whole trip!

remember me? it's @gelultimate back with my 2nd blog of the week. Just want to share with you my last place we've visit on Samal Island.
