Let us explore another place in the Camotes that is worth visiting with a loved one, friends, or family. This adventure and destination were all surprising for me because I only knew we were heading to Camotes, but I had no idea we were going on a round trip around the island of Camotes, which astonished me and made me want to continue round-tripping. I went without knowing it because I know that I am safe with my companions who are my aunts, uncle, lolo, and cousins. Of course, I went with them because it's Camotes (one of Cebu's most popular summer destinations), and I haven't been able to go there yet. I want to experience going to the Camotes, and not just in the Camotes, but other beautiful places as well, so if I have some other chance to get out of town, I will definitely grab it.
In part 1 of this blog, I told you about my fantastic trip on the island of Camotes, where we visited some beaches. If you missed it, go read that first. I'll tell you about the cliff diving spot, lake, and cave experiences in this blog. I hope you will enjoy it!
BUHO ROCK
Are you looking for a thrilling adventure? Do you want to put your bravery to the test? You'd like to overcome your fear of heights? If that's the case, this is the spot for you. At Buho Rock, you can try cliff diving for as long as you want or simply swim beneath the stunning rock formation. The area is formed by a rock in the cliffside with magnificent views of the sea. To get to the rock, you must take a long staircase. There are two diving boards on the rock: a lower and a taller board. This is the perfect place for those who are into cliff diving, such as my kuyas and ates who jump off the cliff. To be honest, it's scary; as you look down, you realize how far you have to go, but I believe it’s well worth it when I see the cliff divers' excitement and enjoyment. Cliff jumps are not something I dare to do, so I'm content to just watch them do it with the goal of doing it myself one day. The kids and my other cousins who do not want to jump are simply swimming down the rock. Buho Rock is a must-see, and swimming in the crystal-clear sea is a must-do!
LAKE DANAO
After visiting the Buho Rock Resort, we were on our route to Lake Danao. As we arrived, Lake Danao is one of the most beautiful and spectacular sites on Camotes Island in my viewpoint. We traveled to Lake Danao to refresh ourselves from the magnificent white beaches lighted by the sun and to gain a new viewpoint on the local nature. The lake was beautiful and clean. The serenity of the place, where chirping birds serenade and an easy wind soothes your spirit, cannot help but captivate you. I had a great time with my cousins on our trip to Danao Lake. The view and the lake are really stunning! If you enjoy stunning views, this is a must-see in Camotes. The greatest part is that I got to explore it further with a paddleboat, which was one of the best things we did. We even had a little competition with my cousins to see who could get to the islet first. One of my cousins was my riding companion; we took a trip around the lake and stopped in the middle of it. It was overall satisfying and peaceful on a quiet day.
TIMUBO CAVE
The cave's mouth or the cave itself is barely big enough for one person to get through, which gives it a thrilling yet scary vibe. I'm very excited to go down to the cave since it'll be my first time, and the cave looks like it'll be full of adventure. The cave's entryway is a small hole that leads to the underground through a long staircase that avoids clumsy visitors such as myself from slipping. Before wanting to enter the cave, we were told that if we have a heart condition or asthma, we were advised not to go inside the cave or enter the hole. The Timubo Cave has a cave pool with cold water where you can swim to your heart's delight. There was an image of Mama Mary inside the Timubo cave, which I didn't expect to see. The strange rock formations you'll witness in the cave are already spectacular. The electric lighting enhances the brilliant blue water in the cave, making it highly tempting for swimming. The cave trip is the most exciting since it allows you to experience what it's like to be a true explorer.
This adventure has been planned by my aunts and ates, who love wandering and traveling as well. Our 3 days on the island had been filled with amazing memories and once-in-a-lifetime experiences. I had fallen in love with all the beautiful spots in Camotes and I knew I would never forget the memories or the adventure. From exploring the beaches to the lake and cave, I had the time of my life. I'm really grateful that I was able to have that experience because not everyone can explore. As we arrive at these all-too-beautiful places on Camotes Island, I'm always delighted and want to do it all at once, but despite how exhausting it is, the experiences and places are worth it, and I will always remember and talk about this experience throughout my life.
Do you find it enjoyable to read? If so, which Camotes destinations would you like to visit?
