Aye aye sailors!
Today, we will set forth for a series of adventures both at sea and at bay!
My parents had saved up enough for us to go on a trip to the islands located in the north. They got us tickets and we had to wait by the port for the announcement to come by. We had a lot of luggage because we were staying there for almost a week. As soon as the boat was shipped off, me and my family began taking photos since the last time we've been there was 6 years ago, so we were pretty much excited about our ideal trip fit for our budget.
We set foot at Bantayan Island Port, the main coast. It only took us an hour because the weather was great and there weren't any sea disturbances at the time. We got picked up by a caravan that was owned by a friend of my parents and we stayed in a common friend's place nearby a church for 2 days. Sadly, my sister fell sick for unknown reasons, so she was mostly in bed, trying to sleep her weariness off. Meanwhile, I had a fun time making desserts there with a girl whom I consider as 'ate' (respected older sister in tagalog). We made a mango and chocolate ice cream dessert, which we devoured overnight.
A few days had passed, and my sister had finally become free of her flu. My dad had reached out to a friend who lived on one of the tiny islands surrounding Bantayan, so we had to take a small, local bangka to get there. The island was called 'Botigues'. It was exactly how we pictured it out to be. A small, sandy island, with the vibe of an old town by the west. There were a lot of houses in this area, there was even an elementary school just by the large pathway that most of the townsfolk walked on. We took a lot of turns as we walked to get to the place we were staying at. And holy smokes, I had not expected our place to stay at to look good since most of the houses looked traditional, but instead, we were placed at one of the most luxurious 2-story establishments I've ever been into.
We ate many wonderful delicacies and seafood. The staff took good care of us and their hospitality was at an all time high. The next day, we decided to visit a small private island hidden away an hour across the island we were currently in. Mambakayaw Island, a mini island open to many tourists, an is extremely underrated. The pristine white sand and the clear, glossy, blue waters reflected my tiny figure. We got there by riding a local bangka and I almost fell asleep as the waves washed over, along with the sound of the engine (it was loud haha).
Overall, me and my family definitely had a lot of fun there. We explored different pieces of land, learned about different cultures, resided in an comfortable abode, and ate till our stomachs could no longer have any room left to plunge. I hope you had a nice time reading this blog. See you on the next one!
Enjoy!❤️✨
