When I visited Gubbio I was not so lucky because I didn't find a beautiful day but in any case I was able to appreciate the beauty of this ancient city of Umbria.
In my opinion Gubbio is one of the most wonderful cities in Umbria that has been well preserved over the centuries, and is very rich in monuments including the Palazzo dei Consoli which is the symbol of the city and the museum, the Palazzo Pretorio which today is the seat of the City Hall.
we remember that the strength of Gubbio was the fact that it was a city-state during the medieval period.
the most important and characteristic church of the city of Gubbio is undoubtedly the Basilica of San Ubaldo, very beautiful but the wonderful thing is the view from up there.
To go up you don't have to work so hard because there is a comfortable funicular that takes you to the top of the mountain overlooking Gubbio inside the church still preserves the body of Bishop Ubaldo, the patron saint of the city of Gubbio.
It was truly a nice experience to have visited this ancient village and also had the opportunity to see it from a different perspective because from above it can be admired more thanks to its towers that are still numerous in the village.
Gubbio was also the television set for a famous fiction that had a lot of success in Italy where the protagonist is the famous Italian actor Terence Hill who embodied the role of Don Matteo. Here we can see the famous table where he had discussions with the carabiniere.
I hope this article on this fantastic Borgo has been to your liking until next time
