Let me continue with my adventures at Campuestohan Highland Resort. If you've missed part 1, you can check it out through the link below.

A Completely Spontaneous Trip | Adventures at Bacolod City and Campuestohan Highland Resort

This trip was way back in 2018 and it was a completely spontaneous trip. We hopped into a random bus, rode a ferry, and landed on a different island. The highlight of this trip was going to Campuestohan Highland Resort, a huge mountain resort with lots of attractions and fun activities. Statues of dinosaurs, cartoon characters, and even King Kong were scattered around the place. I'll be sharing with you my adventures involving King Kong, a sky bike, and their challenging rope course.

KUNG FU PANDA

After visiting the Indian Village and Dinosaur Park, my companion and I set out to look for more attractions. We saw these statues of familiar characters from afar. I could see a panda and some other animals. We moved closer and we saw some strange houses that reminded me of Hagrid's house from Harry Potter (although I now realize the house did not look like that). They were Bonita Huts that belonged more in a Lord of the Rings movie. The sun that day was so bright, you could see light streaks from my photos.

The statues were Kung Fu Panda characters! There was Po, who was larger than everyone else. Mantis, Monkey, Tigress, and others were all in their Kung Fu post. I tried imitating their poses but got too shy when people arrived.

A PLANE CRASH AND KING KONG

Up ahead, we saw a gigantic statue of a gorilla. Immediately, we knew it was King Kong and headed towards it. There was this strange-looking horse with different colors that greeted us. At the base of the statue, there was a plane crash site as if to reenact the scenes from the movie. I got on the plane and imagined I survived the plane crash and saw King Kong when I woke up. I climbed up the statue and stood on his gripping hand as if I was being crushed to death. The kid in me was having so much fun.

SWIMMING POOLS

Because this trip was completely unplanned, we didn't know there were swimming pools at this mountain resort. We would've brought spare clothes. Before their pool area, we saw a large playground where a lot of kids were playing. But we heard more noises toward the pool area. We saw a couple more statues along the way. There was a swimmer on top of a globe. There were waves and a surfboard. And there was a great white share hanging upside down with its mouth wide open.

There was a big wave pool where people eagerly waited for the waves to come. People were shouting as the strong waves pushed them toward the edge of the pool. There was another swimming pool that had a lot of foam and bubbles. It was a foam pool and it looked really fun! Too bad we couldn't enjoy it.

RIDING A SKY BIKE (NO PICTURES)

We roamed around the place and haven't gone on any rides. We circled back near the entrance and decided to go for the sky bike first. It looked less scary than the hamster wheel. We climbed a tower and crossed a hanging bridge. The cables and wires where the bikes would move were right above. We could see the statue of the mammoth nearby and some cottages below. We reached the end of the bridge and the attendant let us sign a waiver. I was getting a bit nervous.

After signing the waiver, the attendant helped us wear our harnesses. We were told that we couldn't take our own pictures. There was an official photographer that took the pictures and each one cost $5. We had no choice but to agree. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the picture of me riding the bike so I'm just going to show you someone else's photo.

Riding the bike off the platform was scary. I thought I was going to fall sideways but the attendant reassured us that the bike would stay upright even if we stopped moving. I remember taking the courage to slow down and stop in the middle to take in the amazing views from our height.

GOOFING AROUND

After doing the sky bike, we decided to have our lunch and rest from the scorching heat of the sun. We took our time resting under the shade of the restaurant before roaming and goofing around with the statues and attractions.

There was this robot with a rifle that looked badass. I'm not sure if it was a character from a movie. Nearby, there was a giant-sized traveling bag and beside it was a towering Mach3 Turbo razor.

They have this building called the Raphaella Mill and I think it houses a few rooms for accommodation. It looked legit like those buildings you see in Europe.

There was a NASA rocket and an astronaut. I tried imitating how the astronaut walked and it reminded me of one of my wildest dreams of going to space as a tourist. We saw a life-size chess game and tried to play for a while before giving up because we couldn't take the heat from the sun.

A CHALLENGING ROPE COURSE

For me, the highlight of our visit to this place was their rope course. I was not expecting to go on a rope course but it looked so much fun, we had to try it. I haven't tried a rope course before and I didn't know it would be so hard especially at the start when your muscles ached so bad.

Their rope course had a series of challenges where I had to balance, hold on tight, and swing at the right timing. I remember how my shoulders hurt after doing the first obstacles but the pain slowly faded away as my body got warmed up. Some obstacles were quite easy but others were just so difficult that a few people gave up on them.

For me, the most difficult parts were the hanging wheels and the spider web. I almost gave up but eventually learned the right technique to move past them. The rope course was a rectangle and you had to go around to finish it. I was so happy and proud when I reached the end.

Finishing that rope course drained all our energy and we decided to head back to the city to get a good rest. Later that night, I remember my nose was bleeding probably because of all that heat in the morning. My doctor said I have delicate capillaries in my nose that easily burst when I'm in extreme heat or cold. But it was worth it. I had so much at Campuestohan!

And that's it! This was such a fun post. I can't wait to go back to Campuestohan and enjoy more of their rides and to Bacolod City for their delicious roasted chicken.

See you in the next post. Cheers!

Haven't tried the skybike and rope course there. For sure my knees would be shaking if I try that. 😁

If you're up for a challenge then the rope course would be for you but some strong legs and shoulders are needed. 😅 For the sky bike, it would be terrifying for people with a fear of heights.
With enough convincing basin mapugos mu try. 😂

Indeed a fun and exciting place for kids and adults 😍🤗

I know! The kid in me had so much fun there. 😊
