Bird nests Sanctuary is Located in Barangay Pagawan near at Manticao, National Highschool. It is near at urbanized place and Provincial road and it can easily accessible here riding any kinds of Passenger vehicles. From Barangay Poblacion particularly in Market place, it needs to travel a few minutes before reaching The Sanctuary.
One of the most fascinating things can be seen here is this unique small boat made of light materials and it is decorated with this colorful clothe. All things can be seen here are the same activities and important things used by Native people that day including this boat called, "Vinta". It is surrounded ornamental plants and some young trees grows.
This tall structures is where some of the old things placed and exhibit. This is one of the Ancestral house here in Manticao and it is made of light materials like Plywoods, Native hard wood lumbers and some bamboo pieces. It is also surrounded with lots of ornamental plants and lanscape that helps the place look very womderful and be more attractive. There are some pathways made of concrete and it helps those visitors to keep away from being muddy or dusty.
This is the session hall of the place. It builts very unique and adorned with lots of curtains. There are lots of different kinds of occasions are already done here. It is also surrounded with lots of trees, wild plants and some fascinating landscapes. This reception hall covers at about 600 Gusts.
This cafeteria needs to be rebuild or renovated but last year, this structure is fully used and served delicious coffee and cold drinks. It is built at the middle of lots of trees and ornamental plants. It is built with light materials just like Bamboo pieces, Plywoods, and round lumbers. Inside of this structure are walled by Amakan and some concrete materials used as floors.
This deep wheel design is not actually a real deep wheel but of we see from the distante place, we can truly imagine about a deep hole with lots of water. This is only a design in the place, children will really have fun time watching thise deep wheel like structures built at the middle of this forestry areas.
There is also a beehive structure here and almost 20 hive boxes installed in this small wooden house. Lots of bees flying around the boxes everytime when they do harvesting. To keep those insects well comfortable, this small house was built under those big trees and bamboos to keep it cool always.
Aside of those fascinating and very attractive structures of the Sanctuary, a wide and spacious place also locates in here. This areas were lots of Camote plants and string beans planted. It is well take cared of by few farmers and it will be ready to harvest soon.
If we talked about Native houses, birds nest sanctuary contains this kind. There are Four types of houses can be seen here and all of it are made of light materials coated with varnish to make it shinny and attractive. This houses is what looks like during the old civilazations here in Manticao and it consists of this tall posts round lumbers to prevent and keep safe from wild animals that day.
Inside of those structures contains this wonderful and fascinating old things like Jars, pots, grinding stones, Bamboo pieces used as musical instruments, paintings and some wood games like "sungkaan" a kind of wood filled with holes on it. Visiting Birds nest sanctuary is truly enjoyable, we can see the old and antique things and aside of that, lots of ideas we can gain from the past.
