Greetings everyone, For Today's blog we will go and explore the place of an abandoned quarrying site in Sitio Santa Cruz, Manticao Misamis Oriental. This place was totally abandoned 2 Years already but there are some huge piles of sands and rocks in the place. Sitio Santa Cruz is near at our residence place that is why we can go the place very easily just take a walk a few meters away and we will reached our destination. This site is located at Manticao River, the diggers decided to dug and get more stones and sands here because the place is deposited with tons of sands and stones. But when the big construction project was done, they also stopped quarrying in this site, leaving this huge pile of sands.

Sitio Santa Cruz is one of the place located here in Manticao, Misamis Oriental. It is a mountainous place and there are some plain lands and connected to the river where the residents washed their clothes and fetch water for their farm. From Barangay Poblacion, it needs to travel a few minutes before we arrived at the place. It is passable to different kinds of vehicles. This place is quite far from Manticao Bus stop and Royal Panda restaurant. The mountains in this Sitio is also a border line or point of Barangay Paniangan and Barangay Poblacion.
With the help of my friend as a photographer for the day, we started to visit and explored the place at exactly 8 in the morning. The place was very cool and only the splash of running water and birds can only heard in this place. The excavation and digging areas was already filled with water and it is already shallowed, perfect foe the children who wants to swim in the river. The cliffs are filled with more bamboo plants and different kinds of big trees, that can also addens the beauty of the place.
Every summer season, we are fun looking for Chinese Kang Kong plants near at the river, and this place contains lots of it. We started to explored the place while looking and searching for a place full of kang kong plants. With my friends accompanied, we walk at this dried land at the middle of the river. The water level keeps decreasing and lowing because of the intense heat happens in the place.
Finally almost an hour of searching for kang kong plants, we seen those plant here near at the excavation site. The place is filled with algae plants that almost covered the entire areas. There are lots of wild plants including kang kong can be found and seen here. With the help of my friend, we started to get more of it. The place was very quite and peaceful, the splashing of water can be heard and the swaying bamboo plants because of the winds.
Because of the crystal clear water, it can also be seen those stones and sands submerge in the water. There is no strong currents and there are lots of fish and shrimps we can see here in the site. The cliff was also covered with wild grass and wild flowers.
There are also some fascinating animals like Cohol living in the place. This kind of shell always comes out every summer season. It lays eggs on the grass just like this one. There are also lots of tadpoles in the place.
This huge and big piles of sands was totally abandoned and it placed at the middle of the river. Some people searching big stones here in this pile and they put in an empty sack and brought home. This pile of sands is already grow with wild grass and flowers.
This is the place were the residents washed their clothes. They gathered more stones and put in one place at the middle of the river so that they can easily washed there clothes in the water. They carefully piled those stones and dug the sands so that it can make the place slightly shallow. Living in a place just like this Sitio is very fun and relaxing, we can avoid noises and any kinds of pollution.
