Khiva sunset to sun gone

I am the music man I come from down your way, and I can play, what can you play?

A wander again, this time before I went for my tea, stumbled across a band of wandering minstrels singing for their supper, there were not many people about so the rattle of coins in the tin were quite hollow.

I shall put it down to rubbish acoustics, but hmm, it was not a pleasant sound, they were making I was not alone in my review

"No good no good" said the man, "No dancing girls, I want dancing girls" said the man

I strolled on and like double decker buses when one turns up there is usually a second not far behind, these guys looked more organised as they had a proper sound system....

......and Dancing Girls!!!

She certainly wasn't camera shy.

From the rooftop terrace of my chosen eatery it was quite a sight as the sun set over Khiva, with the mouth watering aroma of dead animals wafting in the air. A very pleasant evening indeed.

Chef made a seriously good BBQ'd kebab

Under a black sky

Kebabs devoured the lens called to me again, it really was a great vantage point and no one able to photobomb me.

The dancing girls and the singerists had long gone as had most of the other tourists, the squares and the streets silent.

Back outside the Western gate, my work here is done, time to climb the wooden hill and get beneath the sheets.

Delving into the mysterious world again... It's so magical and surreal how they light up the buildings at night, I thought you'd only see it in film sets

What an incredible journey through Khiva you’ve shared! The way you captured the evening’s transition from the lively performances to the peaceful silence of the streets is truly remarkable. The wandering minstrels and the "dancing girls" added a fun, colorful contrast to the peaceful sunset views. Your photos really bring the magic of the moment to life, especially the golden sky and the serene atmosphere once the crowds had left. And who could forget the mouthwatering kebabs? They must have been the perfect ending to a beautiful day. Your experience paints such a vivid picture of this enchanting place—I can almost feel the cool evening air and hear the faint sounds of the distant streets. Thank you for sharing this wonderful slice of Khiva with us! 🌅🎶🌙
