RE: Royal Carribean Cruise: Odyssey of the Seas

Great write up, and pictures, a story well thought out and told. loved it.

Worrying to see robots making drinks ordered from an app! A few more humans cast to the unemployment line. Whenever I have cruised ( river cruise end of April; Amsterdam to Budapest, along the Danube), the staff/crew on board have been mainly wonderful warm Filipino and Indian, until a few years back when I noticed more East Europeans present. two words. Arrogant and aloof. Such a shame when you can't warm to the crew.

What were yours like?

Yeah that's true about the robots.

The crew staff were from everywhere but a lot from India and Philippines I believe. We found everyone to be very friendly and accommodating. Some cultures do have a more direct way of speaking that can come across as rude at times when you're not used to it. I don't think that they mean to be rude and sometimes I think its that English as a second language plays a role and not knowing the nuances of the language. I can only imagine what I sound like when I speak another language. People probably think that I have an intellectual disability 😂. It does suck when you can't connect with the crew. Changes the entire vibe.

yes I agree, but they don't even smile. Very surly!

Lol 😂
That's unfortunate though
