I love gardens, and gardening. I am lucky to have green fingers; so two nights in a lodge right in the centre of the botanical gardens was going to be a fantastic finale to my trip across the Balkans. With an access all areas pass to boot!

Situated on Black Sea shoreline, the complex was created as a summer residence of Queen Marie. It was 12 years in construction from 1924 to 1936.

A good time to be here with lots of plants in bloom: there are over 2000 species of plant within the 16 acre site.

Lovely clean lines, dappled shade, water features all well tended to by an army of people with wheelbarrows.

The huge urns as well as the summer palace and chapels also added to the beauty of the place

The display of cacti and succulents was pretty impressive, in size and variety, it is only behind Monaco as the second most impressive collection in europe.

Seeing such a plant collection is impressive. And regularly maintaining it is probably even more impressive. Probably it takes a regular teamwork of dozens of people. Except if there are botanical/plant experts. Fewer people are enough in that case. Probably it is maintained by experts. It looks well maintained.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.

Can you imagine having a place like that as your own personal garden? I would be there every single day.

LOL @wwwiebe me too!!

What a beautiful botanical garden and great photos! I also visit botanical gardens when I travel. It's great to see plants that we grow here in greenhouses growing there outside. And they are so much more beautiful!

Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for sparking more memories, I too visited this place two years ago, the botanical garden and Queen Mary's palace.
Very good post.

cheers @triplug loved the peace and quiet as well as the plants and stuff

I love flowers so much and it seems sometimes I can communicate with them or they can communicate with me.

I get that, they do have a calming influence, snipping roses, planting seeds is very therapeutic

You are right, the care and presence of flowers can be therapeutic.
