The summertime has ended yet the scorching heat of the sun made me thirsty for a cool adventure. So, we embarked on a place amidst the vast green trees and glistening cascades.
Mangitngit Falls
Mangitngit Falls is an enchanting paradise that is a perfect spot to escape the busy world, and is located in the mountainous barangay of the municipality of Carmen. The word Mangitngit in Cebuano dialect means dark. So I wonder what is the reason behind its names.
Middle Earth Pools
Middle Earth Pools os the facade of the Mangitngit Falls. The resort has different levels of cold and refreshing pools, perfect for adults or kids. The magical oasis embraced by the towering trees will surely make you come back again and again.

📍How to get there?
If you are from the city, just go directly to the north bus station beside SM City Cebu and ride a bus bound for Northern areas. Tell the driver to drop you off in Carmen Market. From there, you can ask a Habal-Habal driver to bring you to your destination. On the other hand, if you have your own vehicle, you can just easily navigate the map of your location. Then, it would take around 2 hours to get there.
With spirits full of excitement, we set of on a drive with Lilo ( my motorbike) to our destination. The road was filled with fresh air through the tall trees of the countryside. As we got nearer, we could hear the gentle sounds of rushing water and that a fantastic adventure awaited us.
✨ Cool amenities that amazed Us
Are you a traveler that is very keen to details like this? Well, if you have read my previous blogs, I always mentioned the importance of these stuffs when traveling. Aside from the fact, that they added convenience and comfort, they also made our trip more unforgettable.
Enough with the chit-chats, here are the lists that can help you:
Cozy Cottages
The resort offers cottages with simple interiors yet surrounded by the breathtaking views. The sizes vary from its prices. If you are in a big group, you may opt to choose the bigger one. After all, it's the comfort while having fun can make your getaway memorable.
Comfort Rooms
If you have read my previous blogs, I always included important amenities like comfort rooms. In every adventure, there are times when we need refreshing breaks. Located conveniently near the fish ponds and gateway, this facility allowed us to freshen up, guaranteeing our comfort throughout the day.
Are you Hungry? Grill it Away!
For Filipinos, grilled barbecue will always be the go-to food when going to resort. Not only that it's the best partner for cold beers, it is also the easiest and most convenient food to bring. So, here, I'll show you the grilling stations!
A small Store for Necessities
Whenever we need or forget something, there is a small store that is located near the gateway. From snacks to refreshments to basic toiletries and souvenirs, this store has seemed to provide every need. This saved us from the hassle of leaving the resort and allowed us to dedicate time to enjoy ourselves.
The X Factor
One thing that wowed me upon strolling through the resort was the fish ponds. Though it did not seem necessary for a resort to have fish ponds but it was an extra factor that added sense of serenity. The colorful fish gazing in the clear water invited us to sit by the banks and be captivated.
Greens and Blues, the Wonders of Nature
The moment we set foot in the resort, we were embraced by the vibrant greens and blues of the nature. The resort's natural wonders unfolded before our eyes.

The sounds of the cascading water, the wind that blows the leaves, and the people that enjoy the pool left us in awe.
There are four levels of pools in which the kids or adults can enjoy and have fun. There are slides for kids and kids at heart. The place is a perfect spot for families and friends for a quick vacation.
We then had a tour of the rest of the place. We wondered where the falls is. Trust me, the sound of the flowing water was really loud. But you could not see any falls unless you unfold it yourself. We began exploring of the resort by following the paths and the small rivers going down. This is exciting!
After minutes of walking, we finally found the precious gem! It was enchanting!
We looked for a path going to the falls but there was none. With a bit of disappointment, we just had a pause and enjoyed the view instead. Ah! Maybe that is the reason why it is named Mangitngit Falls, that is because it is a gem hidden in the dark and remained untouchable. I kind of understand now. To think of the positive side, this is to preserve the beauty of it.

I just thought you want more from the resort. So, here are some of the majestic views that also amazed me.
After our exhilarating tour in the pools, we went to the plaza along the highway and found a perfect spot for a picnic. With the right amount of the shadow of a tree, we savored our delicious lunch. It was only the two of us but the laughter echoed and time seemed to slow down, allowing us to fully appreciate the simple joys of our lives.
What a wonderful time! I am super duper happy to share with you my one of the amazing adventures in life!

What a beautiful place, a perfect getaway place in this hot weather. The falls looks so pretty too, a kind of place na very peaceful ba, wala kang ibang maririnig but the sound of the water falling down 🤩
