What are your thoughts about rain? What do you do when it rains? How do you feel on rainy days? Or do you even like rain? I want to know your views about it, but first, let me tell you my story about what happened last weekend.
My beau and I decided to take a joy ride in four municipalities near us. I told him I deserved a break from being stressed at work. However, the weather was upset, the sky was dark and the air was cold. It was not really a good time to unwind. But with my strong persistence, we pushed the plan through.
As we enjoyed the ride, we passed by a little rocky road in the middle between two high walls. There a signage that pointed to Silveria Beach Resort. So we took a U-turn and entered to the portal of the new experience and memories.
Silveria Beach Resort
Silveria Beach Resort is a private owned resort located in Campusong, Borbon, Cebu. It was opened in 2016.
To get there,
You can either travel by bus or by a private vehicle. If you choose to take the bus, from the city, take the Tabogon route, and tell the bus driver to drop you off at Del's Minimart Convenience Store. From there, you can either walk going to the resort or look for motorbike for hire. If you travel by a private vehicle, just navigate the map and you can easily trace the place.
As I mentioned earlier, if you see these high walls, you are on the right track. So keep going! It would take around 15 minutes travel from the drop off point to this resort.
Then, you will see neighborhoods living nearby. Two pathways diverged later, choose going to the left and you finally reach your destination!
There was silence, but the sea waves...
It does not look like a resort from the outside. There were tall trees and a house which really did not fit to the resort we imagined. Undeniably, the weather really added the creepiness I felt during that time.
As a probinsyana (province girl), we always use the word Ayooo instead of knocking on the door or gate. And it gets even louder and louder when no one answered. Just repeat the Ayooooo and Ayooooo again and again. Then you would hear the dogs barking even before the owner answers.
Behind the gate is a paradise
The entrance fee only costs 20 pesos (0.36 US dollars). I was shocked to hear such low price. I wondered why. Moreover, there were no people in that resort aside from us. Well, I think it was kinda good, that way, we can really enjoy the whole resort.
Once you entered the place, the tall green mahogany trees will welcome you. The place was so cold and quiet. You will see the overlooking view of the sea and the neighboring municipality. Truly, the place will give you peace of mind, space and freedom from work and life.
Look around, breathe...
Wherever you look at, greens are everywhere. Perhaps the owner is a plantita ( a plant enthusiast).
Apart from that, you can see solar lamps tied in trees. It added to the majestic vibes of the resort.
Also, they have cottages for families, circle and friends. You can have nipa huts, or a concrete cottage. But whichever cottage you pick, you'll enjoy the breath-taking view of the sea.
The pathways are all in concrete. However, it's kind of slippery when wet because of the green moss. So be careful, most specially when it rains.
Stairway to Heaven
We were filled with so much excitement to feel the saltiness of the sea. We hurriedly went down through this stairs. The view was just stunning.
It was cloudy. The sea was calm. From the distance, we saw some boats and fishermen hustling hard. I came to ponder how their lives are going. I always have this feeling whenever I see people working hard. The eagerness to know the story behind their hardworks. I wanted to hear how they manage their lives. I wanted to learn from them.
We were both silent as we watched these men. Then a thunder awaken our daydreams. We continued to explore the beauty of this place. There were stones instead sand in the shore.
Carefully, I took my shoes off and enjoyed the tickling waves in my feet. A kid-at-heart joyfully played the cold water and did not mind the drizzles dropping.
The rain began to pour. We panicked because we had not secured our things from the rain. So we ran fast back to the cottage. It began to pour heavily. I was silent. My plan was to enjoy that day. But because of the rain, it was ruined. I sat back and watched the raindrops falling in the sea. It was soothing.
And idea came to my mind. My plan should not be stopped. With no hesitation, I stepped outside. The rain came soaking in my clothes and I was getting wet. I laughed so hard that my beau wondered. It was the best feeling of the day.
Rain has a sweet spot in my heart. It's the best music in my ear. When it rains, I go for a cup of coffee, a cuddle with my pillow or a blank stare in my window while daydreaming. Even if the rain is my enemy at work, I'd still choose to get wet coming home. The feelings are undescribable.
That day, it was raining happiness to me. I felt free from the life. It was one of the best moments I had in the rain. Well, it was even more romantic when you are with the one you love while it rains.

Hello @hanyabee. What a picturesque landmark! Although Cebu can easily be explored by convenient modes of transportation, this beautiful Philippine island still hides mysterious surprises. One of them are natural treasures like her incredible coastal habitats. Thanks for introducing us to Silveria Beach Resort up north! ππ

That was a relaxing place with all those greens and the calm sea. That was a fun thing to do too, a shower in the rain.
