Hello! 👋 Hi! Mabuhay! How are you dear Hivers? I hope everyone's doing fine!✨
How do you value things, little or big? Do you have regrets in life? How do you handle them?
Today, I am going to share the wounds that I never regretted in my life.
Last 2019, my sister and I decided to explore the municipality of Tuburan. According to Statistics Records, it is the biggest municipality in the whole province of Cebu with 54 barangays. This municipality is rarely visited by tourists because it is mountainous, however, it hides lots of beautiful scenic and natural views, like beaches, springs and mountains.
One of which is the Marmol Cliff, the place where I'll bring you to.
Marmol Cliff, Tuburan, Cebu
Marmol Cliff is located in barangay Marmol, Tuburan, Cebu. Majority of the barangays are uphills and in mountains. Marmol is a Cebuano dialect which means marble.
This cliff is named after its attractive gigantic smooth rock walls in the river. The mountains that surround the river is full of tall trees and different plants that become the habitat of animals specially birds.
How to get there?
The cliff is located in the northwestern part of the Cebu Province. Unfortunately, there are no public buses that go directly there. You have to take at least three rides to get there.
If you go via public utility vehicle, from the city, ride a bus with a route going to Tabuelan. That's the nearby municipality. When you reach the stop-over,find a bike for rentals to bring you to this cliff. Do not forget to negotiate. Sometimes, drivers take advantage to tourists who are seemed new to the place. The price comes after the negotiations. Then, tell him to drive you going to Tuburan mainpoint or even to Marmol Cliff.
If you go via private vehicle, then there's no hassle because you can go there easily. Just navigate the map.
Once you see this bridge. You are on the right track. Did you see that river? Yes, what you is think is right. That's the way going to the cliff. Are you ready?
Waaaait! Here's another photo opportunity. Allow me!
The THRILL begins
The place is difficult to access as it is in the middle of the mountain. You have to trek in the river to get there. My advice, have a motorbike when you do, and slippers. You'll surely get wet. Here's why!.
It is estimated to be around an hour to reach the spot. Guess what? You're not going to take the road, but in the river!
If you are into adventure, this will surely give you an adrenaline rush.
The river has become the source of income of the locals as it was rich kn sands which is used for house of income. Thus, the river got wider and deeper because of the quarry of the people.
In the middle of our journey, we paused for a while because we noticed the river went deeper. We went down from the motorbike and observed the river. The water was not clear. There were even no warning signage written. So, I tried to go on foot to test how deep it was.
First, second, third step. It was safe. We were laughing because of what I did. Then, when I stepped my right foot, a big rock beneath hit my leg. Ouch!
It wounded my leg. I lost my balance and began to stumble. Luckily, I was able to raise my hands with my phone and camera in it. Gosh! That was close!.
The wounds didn't stop our journey. As they say, it won't kill you, that's far from your stomach , a famous Filipino line said when hurt or injured.
Then, the fun continued. We traveled for more minutes to reach the spot. Via motorbike, it was a bit easy for us to stop, go and enjoy.
The majestic VIEW
We finally reached the spot. It was jaw-dropping! The stunning view was worth the pain from my wounds. The rock formations were indeed beautiful.
Even though the water is shallow, there were locals that offer their rafts for tourists to explore the cliff. They offer ten peso as fare per head. They used ropes to pull the raft going back and forth.
Take it from me, the raft will surely make your adventure complete and even more memorable. The feeling? Heaven!
Honestly, I ran put of words to describe my feelings during that time. It was one of the best adventures I had in my entire life. But, there was one more thing that would always remind me in this journey. It was when I climbed the rock. I always have this spirit to try something different and unforgettable in my travels.
Look at how eager I was to climb on top. Lol
Furthermore, because the cliff is just totally gorgeous. The trees were dancing while the river was calm. The gigantic rock walls are overwhelming. You would be amazed how beautiful and wonderful the natures were in this world. It was one of the best stress reliever one could have.
We savored our time by taking photos for memories to keep. I tell you, I couldn't even remember how many WOOOOWs that came from my mouth.
In 2022, the Miss Earth organization chose the Municipality of Tuburan to be the one of the hosts of the tourism promotion of the candidates. Marmol Cliff, held the most stunning view in the place became the photoshoot spot the candidates. This place is going know worldwide!
Now, I look forward to coming back to this place and explore more because I know there are more.
The scars will be forever engraved in my leg. But the scars were beautiful to me. The scars I never regretted having. This will forever remind me that I had the best time in Marmol Cliff.
How about you? I'd love to hear your the story behind your scars.
Thank you for reading this far. I hope you had a good time. Have a good one! 💕

And the beaches are too far from this spot. I wish had more time to do so. 😁
Gosh, the journey to get there is literally hard no, but if this is the beauty that awaits, then I can say it is all worth it. But if its me kahit maganda diko kakayanin lalo mahina ako sa lakadan aguyy. This is good for those people who seek adventure, lucky you to be able to witness such beauty.
I couldn't agree more. Mahina din ako sa lakadan, pero pinipilit, for adventure 🤣 tsaka na ang body pains. 🤣
Tapalan nalang nt salonpas after no, ahaha.
Have done that. Hahaha. Used to be mountain climber when I was in college. And salonpas was the saviour 🤣🤣
Oh! The place is quite challenging. But if you're into adventure, you will surely love to visit the place. Riding a motorcycle by the river is another challenged yet very fulfilling when you reach the exact destination. Thanks for sharing how wonderful the place is.
I love nature walks too, especially when it's walking with the gang, by the way when I saw your wound I freaked out I thought it was a snake bite.
Oh! Yea! I just thought so too. It really looked like a snake bite 🤣.
When I first saw the wound I was genuinely scared, I thought you had been bitten by a snake, but now I'm glad it wasn't and that you're okay.
Greetings from Romania.
