Hua Hin, Thailand

A few months ago, we went to Hua Hin Thailand which is about 3 hours from Bangkok. It's known for being a "family friendly" destination in contrast to Pattaya which is a very hard party place lol. That's what they say at least, we've never been to Pattaya. :D

It's a very chill place.

The best for me was the beach not being deep. It doesn't go deep too fast but kinda downside is it's also too shallow lol. If you want to go swimming you'd have to go farther which I didn't like but that's fine since I don't wanna swim anyway. :D

The following pics were taken by @acidyo.

The hotel we went to was nice although it made me kinda squeamish with the pool. The stairs from the balcony or something was wood and it touches the water and maybe just the tile color of the pool looks "dirty". I don't like pools that look cold you know? I like water that's warm. :D

There were also not much tourists/guests that time we visited. I think maybe 10 guests?

The roof deck of our room was also nice + it has a bath tub and shower. There's not much of a view since we're not high enough but still nice just having an option to be there for a quiet time without being inside.

We also visited the night market at around 9:30pm and it's so quiet. There were barely any tourists and they also close pretty early at 10pm. It was kinda weird feeling haha especially when the people we talked to in Bangkok said usually there are a lot of tourists that month. So we were

And of course, I wouldn't not take pics of street art. This one artist in particular is very recognizable and seen basically everywhere.

These are just a few shots of the art with the same style but there's literally plenty of them around. I'm glad the city is okay with it (or not?) and I can see their art scene is pretty vibrant with those. It makes the lonely-looking streets alive.

And lastly, their taxis look like this... I think they were also quite expensive haha and we just took a Grab car anyways. We only stayed a few days here and overall really it was just chill. We didn't even get to the caves and that area with the thief monkeys lol I guess we were too tired those days.

If you really want peace and quiet and to not interact with anyone this is a perfect place for you... that's if you want a beach but not go too far from Bangkok anyway. :D

Sort:

Seriously, Hua Hin? How old are you two? Its a French expats retirement town. Next trip, Im expecting photos of you sucking helium ballons, smoking weed and drinking buckets of unknown alcoholic beverage in the sea athe the Koh Phangan full moon party.

Oh Lord. Hope you had a nice time anyway, oldies ;-)

Hahah we already did all that in Khaosan road. 🤣 But the full moon party sounds nice! :D

It turns out there is a place in Thailand that is not 'busy', Hua Hin without a beach club thats something weird :D

Yeah it was kinda weird feeling being there knowing it's still Thailand but quiet. But we've never been to any other cities after all. Most times we just go to the busy places there. :D

Thats a pretty beach 😻❤️✨, the color of the water is so beautiful too. It's been a long time since i've been to a beach and I really miss it now.

And you look so hot and pretty with your swimsuit 👏❤️❤️✨. A perfect beach model 😻.

And seems like you fully enjoy your stop on that place. There's a lot of fun things to see too even on the way, those arts 👏👏.

Yeah it was really nice. :D The art really added vibrancy to the place and whenever I see one even from the car it's so eye-catching that I had to look and sometimes take a pic. :D
Thank you! lol

It is a beautiful place and tourist area, you look very hot

Seems quite serene...
A hotel with only 10 guests is almost unbelievable in my country...

Caves and thief monkeys?😂😂

Haha yeah there were some monkeys at the end of the beach if you see that big hill on the first photo. They said you have to be careful with your belongings cos like taking some stuff from you. I've heard a lot of these stories about monkeys in Thailand in general haha

It's always fun to change the location to unwind for several days. I'd be happy to have such a break in Hua Hin.

It's known for being a "family friendly" destination in contrast to Pattaya which is a very hard party place lol. That's what they say at least, we've never been to Pattaya

Sharing what I know. Both cities are a sort of "Bangkok" (from the point of quality of infrastructure) by the sea and loved by many foreigners who want to long-stay without leaving the comfort zone. Like, guys with kids or elderly people usually don't go to long-stay in a remote island with no hospitals.

Pattaya in general is less laid-back and more foreigners-oriented (but livelier).

The beach in central Pattaya, from my point of view, isn't a place for swimming (overcrowded, not appealing). However, Pattaya has an easy-to-access Ko Lan island you can visit daily by ferry. The island has amazing beaches much-much better than Pattaya or Hua Hin city beaches. (You can rent a place directly in Ko Lan island either but accommodation is more expensive.)

If you need a new place by Bangkok for the next time, consider visiting Prachuap Khiri Khan or Koh Samet.

Koh Samet is a touristy island with amazing beaches.

Prachuap Khiri Khan City (4-5 hours by bus from Bangkok, 2 hours or so from Hua Hin) is much less touristy (like, a real Thai place), much cozier, cheaper than Hua Hin and Pattaya. And they have aaadorable wild langurs coming from a seaside woody mountain to get some food from people. The most gentle, fairy-tale-like creatures (unlike wicked macaques). They also have a mountain in the city center with hundreds of macaques living there and walking on the surrounding streets. Prachuap has the same shallow okay beach (rent a bicycle/motorbike to reach it) as in Hua Hin but more picturesque (Ao Manao beach).

Ko Kood is where I want to go next time, but the trip will take more time from Bangkok... Looks like it's an island with a lot of jungles and great beaches. My type of island.

I saw Hua Hin from thai movies and it looks better here hehe. I guess it's waay better than pattaya esp if you love quietness. I rode on those taxis a couple of times but can't never figure out how to pay. I think it's it was like 5 bath or something but legit someone paid for our fare the first time we tried those 🤣

Wow, I am amaze at the architectural design of the hotel that you are staying in and the sea side are beautiful. 😍

Looks like a very nice picture my friend
