A stroll along Boulevard Mohamed 6 in Marrakech, Morocco

in Worldmappin2 days ago (edited)

Hello my friends on Hive!

This week, I decided to take a wonderful stroll along one of Marrakech's most beautiful and vast boulevards: Boulevard Mohammed 6, formerly known as Boulevard de France. This boulevard is not just a grand avenue, but a veritable urban experience that blends modernity, elegance and natural beauty, all imbued with the bewitching charm of Marrakech.

I began my walk at Marrakech station, which is one of the largest and most beautiful in Morocco. It was built recently and its architecture shows both modern and traditional Moroccan elements. The station's enormous entrance and wide square with palm trees was too striking not to photograph. As well as being a place of transport, this station is a magnificent piece of architecture that I really admired!

I then headed east towards Marrakech airport, walking along the main avenue lined with trees and lush vegetation, which gave off a lovely impression of natural freshness. This avenue becomes too busy in the evening, but in general it's a pleasant place to stroll and relax, thanks to its well-tended landscaping and green spaces!

During my walk, I discovered a really impressive place: M-Avenue. This modern district is one of the best known in the city today, and frankly, I can see why! As soon as you set foot there, you immediately feel the elegant atmosphere.

What struck me most was the presence of luxury boutiques featuring major international brands. For those who love top-of-the-range shopping, this really is the place to be! But even if you're not planning to buy anything, it's nice to simply stroll around and admire the well-decorated shop windows.

M-Avenue isn't just about shopping. There are also some very chic cafés and restaurants, perfect for a gourmet break. Everything is designed to offer a pleasant and luxurious experience.

Some very prestigious hotels are located in this district. One of them even belongs to Cristiano Ronaldo (PESTANA CR7) !

I came across a really charming little garden. Despite its small size, it housed a beautiful variety of plants, and I stopped for a few moments to observe them!

The first plant that caught my attention was the Pittosporum Tobira. Its name might sound complicated, but in reality, it’s a very elegant shrub with beautiful, shiny green leaves. Besides being decorative, it’s highly valued for hedges because it grows well and maintains a lovely shape all year round. What’s even more interesting is that it adapts very well to the Moroccan climate, which explains why it is often seen in gardens and green spaces!

Another plant: True Lavender. Its fragrance was already floating in the air before I could even distinguish it among the other plants. This scent is so soothing that it is used in herbal teas, essential oils, and even some cosmetic products. I took a moment to admire its characteristic purple flowers, and I remembered all the benefits attributed to it: relaxation, stress relief, and even a natural anti-anxiety effect.

Then, my gaze fell on another plant. It was Cotton Lavender, a Mediterranean plant often cultivated for its beautiful foliage and high resistance to drought. It adds a lovely touch of color and texture to the garden, and it’s always fascinating to see how some plants can adapt to harsh climatic conditions while remaining so beautiful.

After enjoying the atmosphere of M-Avenue, I continued my walk to the large fountain located in the middle of Boulevard Mohammed VI. Just behind the fountain stands the Palais des Congrès, which hosts many international events, from conferences to cultural and film festivals, including some activities of the Marrakech International Film Festival.

In a small, quiet garden, located not far from the convention center, three sculptures particularly caught my attention: A carved piece of tree, a statue representing a stork and another representing a hand with fingers together.

At the end of my walk, as I was walking leisurely, I passed by the Royal Theater of Marrakech. It is a very important cultural and artistic place in the city. Even though it is currently being renovated, it is impossible not to stop and admire its imposing architecture.

What is immediately striking is its mix of styles. It combines traditional Moroccan architecture with European influences, giving it a truly unique look. We have the impression of seeing a building that is both majestic and refined, which reflects the rich cultural heritage of Morocco.

Of course, at the moment it cannot host shows, but in the past, this theater was a true temple of live performance. Many artists have taken the stage there for concerts, plays and other high-quality cultural events. It is even said that it hosted incredible performances that left an impression on the spectators.

I can already imagine the day when the work will be completed... The Royal Theater will then regain all its splendor, and Marrakech will once again be able to enjoy this cultural jewel. It will undoubtedly be a must-see place for lovers of art and entertainment. In the meantime, even under construction, it remains impressive to see and is worth stopping for a few moments to admire it.

Walking along Boulevard Mohammed 6 is a journey between past and present, between nature and luxury, between art and culture. I highly recommend anyone visiting Marrakech to take the time to explore this boulevard and savor its many facets. Thank you and see you soon!
