Hello friends,
Yesterday, I decided to take advantage of the fine weather to wander around Marrakech and rediscover this charming red city.

My starting point was Bab Doukkala, one of the historic places in the medina where the bus station is located.

After leaving Bab Doukkala, I followed the great old walls of Marrakech. These ochre-coloured walls, built a very long time ago in the 12th century, are truly impressive in their size and solidity. They are a reminder of the city's history and show how Marrakech was once protected.

People often think of Marrakech as a dry, arid city, but in reality it hides some real green treasures. As I continued on my way, I came across several magnificent gardens, carefully tended, where nature seems to be reclaiming its rights. Large palm trees and orange trees with dense foliage provided welcome shade. Each green space I passed through offered a unique atmosphere, with benches placed here and there to allow passers-by to stop for a moment. These gardens are real bubbles of freshness and tranquillity in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the red city, an ideal place to rest and enjoy a moment of calm and meditation.

I then continued walking toward the craft complex on Boulevard Mohamed 5, a bustling location where regional artisans display their abilities. I was astounded by the variety of their works as soon as I got there, including paintings, exquisitely patterned ceramics, exquisitely crafted traditional clothing, vibrantly colored Berber carpets, and exquisite silver jewelry. Every item was the result of painstaking craftsmanship.
Inquisitive, I paused to see the artisans at work and speak with a few of them. Speaking enthusiastically about their trade, they described the age-old methods that have been passed down through the generations. The lively conversations and laughing of the astonished guests blended with the sound of hammers forming metal. The ambiance was lively and nearly enthralling, and I let myself to be swept away by the blend of.

You can't visit Marrakech without crossing the legendary Jamaa El-Fna square. When I arrived on this vast esplanade, I was stunned by the unusual vitality that reigned there: stalls selling fresh orange juice, spice merchants, musicians, dancers and... snake charmers!
A little worried and curious, I decided to try it out and take a photo of myself with a snake around my neck. The sensation of the animal on my skin was unusual - something like cold and velvet together. The most horrifying moment, however, was when I approached to capture a cobra in front of me. Particularly when the beast raised its head and looked me straight in the eye, my heart was pounding. I'll never forget that adrenaline rush!

Afterwards, I felt compelled to take a second break and find some peace and quiet somewhere. So I went looking for somewhere quiet and discovered a beautiful garden right in the middle of the city. This well-kept little paradise exuded calm.
I loved the beauty of the tall trees and greenery and the large number of fountains in the area. The air was cool, the leaves dancing in the gentle breeze. I also took the time to see the flower-lined paths, listen to the peaceful sounds around me and enjoy this peaceful respite from the daily hustle and bustle of the city. Just a moment to relax, enjoy the moment and let myself be carried away by the sweetness of the moment.

My walk continued as far as Marrakech Plaza, a square in a modern district that contrasts with the authenticity of Marrakech. It was another face of the city, more contemporary but just as fascinating.

On the way back to the neighbourhood where my older sister lives, I crossed an avenue lined with a long, magnificent fountain. Of course, I didn't hesitate to capture the moment in one last photo, as if to keep a visual souvenir of this walk full of discoveries and emotions.

This day in Marrakech let me to appreciate the history, landscape, and distinctive aura of this city of a thousand faces. I experienced a whole experience mixing astonishment and thrills between the busy passageways, the magnificent city walls, the serene gardens and the adrenalin of Jamaa El-Fna. Marrakech still has a thousand things to give, one thing is certain: I am eager to start yet another journey throughout its gorgeous streets!
Thank you for reading; I hope you liked the pictures I captured. Take care and see you soon for yet another post.
