Hello, world traveler friends! and community. India is known as an incredible India and it is true. As an Indian, I learned about our history and culture since we were in school. We have many wonders and mysterious places throughout India, with each location showcasing its own historical significance. Each place has different traditions and cultures, yet there are also similarities in art, sculpture, and architecture. That’s why it’s often said that "unity in diversity" defines Incredible India.

Recently, I traveled to Belgaum, now known as Belgavi, to visit my family. On the way, we made a quick stop at a historical gem called Halasi, a small village that holds a hidden treasure: the Bhuvarah Narasimha temple. It’s not very touristy yet, but I hope it will be soon!
We traveled to Belgaum and then to a place called Khanapur, which is approximately 26 to 30 kilometers away. we passed Khanapur and drew directly at a small village called Halasi, located 14 kilometers from Khanapur. Due to road conditions, it took us about 45 minutes to get to Halasi. Unfortunately, during our travel, a local driver accidentally hit our car and broke the side mirror, but that was just a minor problem.

When we arrived in Halasi, the atmosphere was very quiet. Next to a temple, there was a school, The children came out, they seemed curious about our visit, particularly about my tall foreign husband. Even the priest was surprised to see us. There was no guide available to provide more information about the place, but one of the teacher from the school shared some details in a mix of English and Kannada. We had gathered some information from the internet, but most of it was in Kannada.

Experiencing the place firsthand is completely different from what you read online. We often find this to be the case, but it was surprising that there were no other visitors during our time there. The priest mentioned that people do come, but rarely—most visitors are school groups on field trips or traveling groups that come occasionally.
Varaha is depicted as a boar or as an anthropomorphic figure, featuring a boar's head on a human body. His consort, Bhumi, is the earth goddess whom Varaha lifts. That is the name of this temple is
Bhu-earth, Varah-bore Narasimha means animal head and human body.

As soon as we enter inside temple first we see this beautiful idol of Bhuvarah Narasimha. That is one of Bhagavan Vishnu's incarnations. Vishnu had become a boar to save the Earth planet from asura/demons. in our Hindu mythology. According to legend, the idol of Narasimha was a swayambhu, it was not made by human hands and it just appeared on its own.

It has two Garbhagrahas. The main sanctum has an idol of Maha Vishnu in a sitting posture. Behind this figure are idols of Suryanarayana, Mahalakshmi, and Lord Narasimha.
