Hello, friends, travelers, and community members. We had a long layover at Munich Airport during our journey from Norway to India. This time, we wanted to experience Oman Airlines, and our connection to further destinations was from Munich. The layover lasted 7 hours, and the terminals were separated into Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
At the inquiry desk, the staff member informed us that if we had time, we could walk through the Christmas market in the open area connecting Terminal A to Terminal B. We had plenty of time so naturally we decided to explore the Christmas market located just outside the entrance of both the terminals.
The market was massive, filled with numerous stalls and shops showcasing various Christmas items for sale. People were enjoying their layover time, and many locals were also visiting with their families.
The market starts just outside the exit.
Some people were on the ice skating rink located in the center of the market.
Food stalls
Beer lovers enjoying their beer.
beautiful Christmas tree ornaments.
doormats
Nice wooden utensils.
Chimney cakes
we entered terminal 1 to locate our gate for our flight The building was so confusing and lacked information so we walked and walked there was no place to sit and relax. but they have a wonderful face-to-face computer info system so we got in contact with a very helpful assistant who told us exactly where to go. if we had known about that system earlier we would have had no confusion.
A golden statue of King Ludwig 2 was placed in the entrace of the terminal but there was not much else inside the terminal to take photos of.
So we went back out to the market in another direction where the huge Christmas tree was beautifully decorated with plenty of ornaments.
A pair of angel's wings seemed to be missing a body so many people tried fitting between them to become an angel, at least for a moment. I tried myself also.
A manger
A reindeer
and of course Santa Claus
Lots of creative and artistic gift items
A nice friendly moose above the shop
Attractions for the children
we were not looking forward to the long layover in Munich and wondered how to spend 7 hours but the unexpected Christmas market made the time pass very pleasantly and we enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit.
Thank you for stopping by.

Hi @ninaeatshere I still couldn't understand what SNAPS is.
Snaps is a new peakd feature that enables sharing short content within communities. It works like twitter, 250 characters to interact more easily with other users.
To win extra tickets to the #WinterChallenge on snaps, first go to the #Worldmappin community snasp feed:
https://peakd.com/c/hive-163772/snaps
At the top of the feed, you can write your snap.
To participate in the challenge:
1 share the link to the most recent Daily Travel Digest published by worldmappin or also link to some of the curated posts in the travel diggest.
2 Include these three tags: #worldmappin #winterchallenge #traveldigest
Only two entries per day per user are allowed, so you can accumulate 2 daily tickets per snap for the raffle at the end of the winter challenge.
In this link you can access the leaderboard and check how many tickets you are collecting: https://worldmappin.com/winter-challenge
You can see sample snaps shared by other participants by scrolling down in the community feed.
I hope this has been helpful, if you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

So wonderful place!
I live in Sardinia, a Mediterranea island where snow and winter are almost absent; it's impossible to "feel the Christmas" here. Not for real. The consequence is that I get really emotional when I see Christmas markets abroad.
Thank you for showing this :)
Then you should travel some north european countries mostly the christmas time is greate to enjoy. :)
It's 5 December 4:35 pm and I have +18 degrees here 😁
I'll definitely need some Northern place!
Love Munich!
We never been in the city but at airport we use our time to walk in market. :)
Oh look, I am living in Munich for so long now but never knew we have a Christmas market even at the airport :D
We were surprised as well; we didn't expect to see this market. We just received information at the airport, and things happened. Thank you for your support. :)
That is awesome! Thanks for showing me! I will go and check it out if I have time 😎
