Hello, friends, travelers, and community! Happy New Year to all. This is my first post of 2025 in the community, and I wish you all a healthy, peaceful, and prosperous year.
In this post, I want to share my experience of the Norwegian winter. Recently, I had an appointment with the Immigration Police. Unfortunately, the local police office had closed their schedule for appointments, so I had to check in another county and managed to get an appointment in the middle of January. They are extremely busy, and I couldn't change the date or location.
It was early morning, and the temperature was -18 degrees Celsius. With shorter days and a snowstorm, it was quite an adventure, living in that place during the winter season. But I didn't have any other option. My husband's encouragement and support always gives me strength, and he accompanied me on this trip. We had never been to that area before, and driving in such weather was challenging. A friend of mine warned me about the slippery roads, which is something I'm always cautious about in winter.
Ultimately, we decided to take a train. However, we still had to transfer to a bus halfway through the journey and then walk from the bus stop. I don’t mind walking, but navigating slippery roads in winter does worry me. But I managed to do it!
because of my appointment time, we planned to take the earliest train possible.
When we started from home, it was still dark outside. The beginning of our journey was simply sitting back and relaxing on the train.
When we reached our destination and transferred to a bus, we stepped off the train and were greeted by a beautiful dawn atmosphere. Despite the freezing cold, I said, "Wow!"
The Drammen station is located on the harbor and it looks amazing any season. There were very nice colors in the sky and reflections in the water before sunrise.
It was very early so just a few people were out on the way to work. I should have taken more photos but it was freezing cold and we were in a hurry to find our bus stop somewhere across the river.
In between I noticed this beautiful silhouette of some machinery, pipes?
Nice view of hills snow and reflections.
snow and hillss are a very good combo of nature.
Some places had lots of snow which made this place look wonderland.

Some trees were still holding their greenish brown colors.
lots of variation of snow and light along the way.
fields were full of snow.
