Hello, friends hive travelers, and community greetings. After the Gaustatoppen hike and exploring the steep cliff of Ravnejuvet, we headed to Vinje. My friend Maria waiting for us. Driving towards Vinje there are very nice places we had no time to stop at every small place. But still, they were beautiful in the morning sunshine.
We arrived at Maria's house after 1/2 hour driving. Maria welcomed us with warm hugs and a warm breakfast. We refreshed first and then finished breakfast talking and planning about our trip.
In Norway you don't know when the weather will change, so Maria wanted to take advantage of good weather to pick berries after we relax. After relaxing for 1 hour, Maria drove us to her childhood house and her property nearby 2-3 kilometers from her house.
Vinje is very popular for goat farming and the farmers produce their goat milk products locally. so when you are driving on the road in Vinje you have to be alert for goats crossing the road anytime in the morning and evening.
Maria's house now only structure is left, but solid Rauland-style building architecture is more than 150 years old without maintenance. She inherited it. This house is a childhood memory for her.
picking cloudberries is fun. We picked lots of them until we started sweating and we felt now time to swim.
After that, we went directly to the lake which was close to Maria's house in the center of Vinje. and a big attraction for locals and tourists.
After spending a couple of nights with Maria, we headed for our next destination. we reached Kromvikvegen around 1 pm. It was a nice Norwegian summer day with good weather.
The mountain was in front of us, 1096 meters above sea level. A good hiker needs only 50 minutes to get on the top. But for me took almost 1 and half hours. the first part is the stone ladder, and the top level is the hiking trail rough, and wet bog.
After parking our car in Kromvikvegan we had some food and started our hike.
The stone steps make the trail easy to follow. It's a smooth, easy climb but the natural stonework done by Sherpas from Nepal is very wide stones. either you have to take one long step or make two small steps. These stone stairs follow all the way through the mountain birch forest and up to a great viewpoint.
After that instead of stone steps the trail passes through a rough wet bog so waterproof shoes are recommended.
Several trails run parallel up towards the top. There you can enjoy your night with a wide view in all directions. We didn't prepare to spend a night there so we just relaxed and enjoyed the view of all the surrounding mountains and lake. Played at making stone towers and designs, and returned back.
Here I reached the top.

From a long distance Gaustatoppen and Songavatnet lake
zooming in on Gaustatoppen.
the sky started gathering clouds and we had a long way to drive for the next stop.
From Falkenuten you can walk further into the mountain on an unmarked trail, or follow the same trail back and enjoy the view of Gaustatoppen. Returning is a little easier than climbing up.
Our car parking place is in the middle of the hike. see the marking.
And here is Songna Lake when we passed through we saw the residential area. around there.
