Hello friends of this fantastic community,
I hope you are all well. Today, I want to share with you some photos from an unforgettable adventure, an intense and evocative hike that took me to Monte Corno Battisti. This imposing peak is part of the Pasubio group and witnessed significant historical events during the Great War. It's a beautiful place from a naturalistic perspective, but also a place of respect for those who fell here.
My hike covered about 11.5 kilometers and lasted nearly four hours. The path begins as a trail immersed in nature, with the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves as a soundtrack, something that always makes you feel serene. Gradually, I found myself inside an enchanting forest, enriched by breathtaking views, as you can see from the photos. I was fortunate to enjoy a beautiful day, sunny but not too hot, fortunately.
During the walk, I passed through small settlements and even a donkey farm. In some stretches, I had to use ladders to overcome steep terrain, and it was by no means easy. These paths were built during the Great War and have been preserved and made accessible thanks to the efforts of local volunteers who seek to preserve the memory of these places.
It's important to be very careful during these hikes because there's always a risk of falling rocks. The fragility of the mountains is a growing concern, and we need to be responsible in our paths. Even though the beauty of this route includes passing through small tunnels and climbing steep ladders.
In the end, I reached the summit of Monte Corno Battisti, which is at an altitude of about 1760 meters. This mountain is named after Cesare Battisti, an Italian patriot hero who was captured here in 1916 and tragically executed two days later. The area also hosts numerous via ferratas, popular among climbing enthusiasts.
I hope the photos I've shared have given you a taste of this incredible adventure. Retracing these paths is always exciting, especially when you can avoid them on crowded days. On weekends, these destinations often become chaotic, so it's a real privilege to explore them in tranquility.
Thanks to all for sharing this experience with me. I look forward to telling you about the next adventure. See you soon!
