Hello dear friends of this wonderful community!

It had been quite a while since I had the pleasure of sharing one of my walks in the picturesque Berici Hills with you. Fortunately, the recent rains have brought some freshness to the air, making it the perfect time to resume my training in these beautiful lands. Once again, I've kept my habit of waking up early in the morning because nothing beats the excitement of starting the day with a refreshing walk, and starting the day's activity in the morning, in my opinion, is very rejuvenating.

This time, my route was a not too demanding little tour, about 8 kilometers in two and a half hours, with an elevation gain of 300 meters. I started from the charming town of Castegnero, which many of you may not be familiar with, but it is located at the foot of the hills. I ascended slowly along the Colli Berici trail and decided to explore some of the natural caves found in this region. I had mentioned before that there are many caves here, and I've heard that some speleologists from Vicenza have conducted surveys, but there are truly so many. Unfortunately, these natural wonders are not well-promoted, and that's a real shame.

Entering one of these caves is a unique experience. The sensation of venturing into the depths of the earth is captivating, although I can't deny that I always feel a certain fear that the rocks might collapse. For safety reasons, I've noticed that some caves have been closed to the public, and probably rightly so, to prevent people from venturing too deep.

I imagine that these places are frequented by many animals, certainly bats, but perhaps even some wolves.

In any case, the hike was pleasant and relaxing. The temperature was perfect, and as usual, these places are sparsely visited by both tourists and hiking enthusiasts. In fact, this time too, I was fortunate not to encounter anyone else along the trail. It depends on personal preferences; I enjoy being on my own.

I wholeheartedly thank those who have taken the time to read my post, and I hope the photos I've shared have captured the beauty of this natural place that I deeply adore. I can't wait to share new adventures with you in my next post.

See you soon!
