Hi everyone! How is everyone today?
Still me, HY!
In the previous post, I shared about my three-day weekend trip. Today I'm going to share another place on that trip, a volcano that stopped working millions of years ago, and now it's become a very beautiful place for nature lovers, and like to explore everything around me like me. It is Chu Dang Ya volcano, a majestic volcano among the mountains and forests of the Central Highlands full of sunshine and wind.
Chu Dang Ya is located in Ploi Lagri village, Chu Dang Ya commune, Chu Pah district, about 30 km northeast of Gia Lai city center. Chu Dang Ya is a volcano that stopped working millions of years ago. According to the Jrai ethnic group, an ethnic group from ancient times living here, Chu Dang Ya means "Wild Ginger". According to the people here, that:
“Once upon a time, in the early days of this land, there was an old woman who lived under the mountain. One day, she had a stomach ache, but the village healer did not cure her. In excruciating pain, she tried to climb the mountain near where she lived, hoping to find something that would cure her illness. When she reached the top of the mountain, she saw a bunch of ginger growing naturally and lushly, she thought it was heaven, so she dug it up and ate its roots. Immediately after, she felt much less pain. She immediately dug a little more to bring home to eat, her illness was completely gone. Her story was widely spread around the area and from then on, the Jrai people here called the mountain Chu Dang Ya, which means Wild Ginger."
From Bien Ho tea hill, where I had stopped to visit before, I and my friends continued to move about 13km in the northeast direction, with a time of about 40-45 minutes by motorbike, because of the mountain road, I couldn't drive at the same speed as the city road, so I drove at a slow speed for safety. This stretch of road zigzags along the water channels, the rice fields on both sides of the road stretch to the foot of the mountain in the distance. Traveling about 5km, I was surprised to surprise and had to say "wow" many times when I saw the scene on both sides of the road with wild sunflowers in full bloom, stretching from one section to another. The iridescent yellow flowers stand out on the stem, the green leaves, mixed with the bright sunlight, create a wonderful scene, just like a painting.
After driving for a while, I arrived at the foot of Chu Dang Ya mountain, and my friends and I parked the motobikes at the people's parking lot. After discussing for a while, because the road was quite steep, we decided not to climb the mountain in a straight line, but to climb to the top by following the people's crops, the way poet Lo Tan said (a famous Vietnamese poet) :"There is no road in this world, people go forever to become a road", which means that the road does not come naturally, but it is people who go a lot to form the road. Although the path my friend and I chose was not easy, even getting thorns and having to hide in the thick grass, but it was also a unique way for the trip to discover more new and interesting things. And after a while of making my own way, I also reached the top of the volcano.
Looking down from above, the mountain looks like a giant funnel, about 500m above sea level and hidden in the middle of the great green forest. Because this is a volcano that was active millions of years ago, layers of lava have been erupting over time, combined with the main layer of basalt red soil to create a fertile land, all year round with trees, good green flowers without needing to water, take care of much. Above, people grow a lot of crops such as potatoes, cassava, corn, peanuts, pumpkins for food, interspersed with old perennial trees, bushes of reed grass, foxtail grass, and wild sunflowers. flourish together. Far away at the foot of the mountain are rice fields stretching, golden to the horizon.
A special feature when visitors come to this place is to be immersed in the sparkling golden space of wild sunflowers. Starting in November, from both sides of the road, the paths, the streams, the lakeside, and the entire mountain are covered with the yellow color of hundreds of thousands of wild sunflowers blooming, depending on the weather. may bloom slowly or earlier about 2 weeks. There are few places where wild sunflowers grow as much, green and blooming as in Chu Dang Ya. The wild sunflower is a flower full of vitality, symbolizing faithful love, showing pride that never gives up. Although it is a wildflower, wild anemone has a beauty that anyone must fall in love with. In particular, the meaning of wild sunflowers also makes people surprised and admired.
Every year, there is also a festival called: Wild sunflower festival, which takes place in mid-November to promote local tourism to domestic and international tourists. Visitors can participate in many interesting activities and experiences with the typical culture of this place such as brocade weaving, campfire, gong performance, drinking wine, food fairs, agricultural products, specialties ... Coming to Chu Dang Ya, you will feel the peace, enjoy and explore the unspoiled nature, immense green trees, it has its own beauty in this majestic Central Highlands.
After discovering Chu Dang Ya mountain in my own way, my friends and I had to continue our journey. The scenery here left me with many new emotions, with the green color of crops, the yellow color of wild sunflowers, the pink color of foxtail grass, and the white color of reed grass. It creates a colorful picture, a unique feature, a wild beauty of its own, in the midst of the majestic mountains of the Central Highlands.
In the future, if I have the opportunity, I still want to come back here, explore this mountain again, and in a new and unique way.
