Hello to all sports enthusiasts but also to those who like to travel!
Today I want to tell you about my cycling experience yesterday, in fact the weather was not the best. In fact it almost seemed like it was going to rain, let's say it was very gray. However, the temperature was quite good, so I wanted to reach my dear friend who lives in some parts of Mantua, thanks to the numerous trains that connect Milan with Mantua.
We had been wanting to do this bike ride for a long time, but in reality we had found it difficult to fit in our free time and so we had never managed to organize this bike ride.
Among other things, you should avoid going out on your bike in these areas in the summer because here due to the heat it is difficult with the high temperatures, so it is always better to do these rides in spring or even in autumn, while those in winter are not recommended because here there is usually fog.
You can also insert the route we took is about 61 km in 2 hours 35 minutes that I measured thanks to the Strava application, which I often use in my bike rides, I must say that it was a fairly simple ride, as you could see the difference in altitude was not challenging of only 53 meters, precisely because this route develops mainly on the plain and here there are no hills or mountains where you have to do much more challenging climbs.
I mainly rode cycle paths, or roads where very few cars circulate and I do this mainly also for a question of my safety, but above all I photographed the famous Ponte di Barche of Torre d'Oglio which is a large infrastructure located in the province of Mantua that basically serves to cross the Po river between two important locations, The beautiful thing about cycling is to find ourselves in front of these places that have made history.
In fact, this bridge, you think, was built in 1926 because once this point of the Po River could only be crossed with a system of boats and therefore it was very demanding and much more expensive and therefore this infrastructure was built that can still be used today in part and is composed of a series of barges connected to each other that practically float and form the roadway of the road.
Unfortunately I could not cross it, because it is closed as there was a flood of the Po River, but over the years I must say that it has become a great tourist attraction and even many artists and directors have shot films and even music videos here and to maintain this structure I remember that they asked for a contribution when you passed over it.
Slow travel by bike gives you the opportunity to appreciate these things and also in some way realize that they exist.
I hope that the photos I shared were interesting, I was happy to have taken you virtually with me on this bike ride, but I am already organizing several for the next few months that I will certainly share here in the community.
Hello everyone, see you soon!
