Hello my friends, I hope you are having a wonderful day. I'm having a great day because I'm here again with my uncle, who I've been talking about recently, and we're spending time together. I am writing this post there. You liked the first part of Ephesus Museum, thank you for your nice comments. I hope you like this part too.
I will start this part by talking about the wonderful everyday items from the Roman period. I don't know what attracted you the most, but the tray and the perfume amphora attracted me the most. When I first saw the tray I thought it was a mirror, it looks so beautiful. Imagine if only the tray was undamaged, wouldn't everyone love to use it even today? It is natural that it was damaged because it was made of glass, but I would have loved to see it undamaged. That bottle (amphora) looks too big for perfume. I wonder if they used perfume a lot more than today or if they had such a bottle because they used it for a very long time?
This is a philosopher's head made of bronze. It's from BC and extremely detailed. In my previous post @bemier gave me a history lesson and I think she might be a philosopher. Maybe she even knows who this head belongs to haha. Joking aside, my favorite detail in this sculpture was the eyes. It looks too realistic.
This is an Oinochoe. A kind of wine jug. There's even a figure on the lid. I think it belonged to a nobleman. It looks like the hilt of a sword. I didn't realize there were so many cool things in the past. That's what I love about visiting museums. source
Here are two more cool statues. Have you ever seen Cupid riding a dolphin before? I haven't, and he looks quite cheerful. It must have been a very ordinary activity for a god. The second statue is an Egyptian rival. Just like the ones we see in movies or documentaries, right? Of course, they don't make the things we watch randomly. It's based on historical things like this.
Statues aren't always huge, are they? These are tiny busts. Aren't they all beautiful? So, which one is your favorite? My favorite is the double Nemesis figurine in the second photo. It even has wings! The hair on the other figurines and busts is also very well done, it's admirable.
This Archaizan Artemis, I told you that the gods are interpreted differently in different religions and regions. I have shared many Artemis with you so far. I don't know which region this one belongs to. If anyone knows, please share in the comments.
Which of the everyday items in these photos caught your attention the most? You probably won't guess mine. Because it is in the background. Having said that, you probably realized that it is a scale. It amazes me that such things are from 2000 years ago. About 15 years ago or so we were still using these scales, that's what surprises me. I mean we just passed them in scale technology XD Also the shape of the spoons looks very strange. You can't drink a soup with that. They look more like single tined forks lol.
Let's go a little further in the museum and let me share with you the statue of Priapos. Yes, it is a bit different from what you have seen, I admit that. Another statue whose details I admire. Menandros, a Greek playwright. His father was allegedly a general. I don't want to fill this whole post with information from the internet, so I will give you this much information for now. A statue of a priest and a priestess is one more indication of how religious people were valued in ancient times. I think they were valued more than today.
Another excellent statue of Zeus. I told you that a museum without statues of Zeus or Aphrodite is not a real museum. This museum has a lot of them. Usually their genitals are damaged, but this Zeus looks pretty healthy, at least in one piece XD
Another great statue. You want to guess what Hygeia is? Reminds you of the word hygiene, doesn't it? She is the goddess of health and cleanliness. She's also the daughter of the goddess of medicine. A fitting goddess for the daughter of the goddess of medicine. If you look her up on the internet, you'll see that the thing in her belly is actually a snake. Can it be associated with cleanliness? By the way, I don't want to leave out the details of this statue. Especially the strings of her dress are admirable. The fact that they make such detailed sculptures proves to me the value they attach to art. After all, that dress might not have been so detailed, but then it wouldn't have looked so beautiful. source
There are not only human or god sculptures in the museum. Here is a snake sculpture! It looks too realistic. Although I don't think a snake would look like that in real life, I can say that. There is a proverb in Turkish that says "you will crush the head of a snake when it is small". Even though this snake is quite big, someone crushed its head 😂
If you wonder how tables looked 1800 years ago, here is an example. It looks quite elegant again. They never compromise on artistic looks. It can be used today, only for some reason it looks very cold and it seems like it would make you very cold, especially in winter, but I don't know if it is cold or not because I haven't touched the table. I see some people touching historical artifacts, but I respect 2000 years of heritage and I prefer not to touch them.
I think I will end the second part here because in the next part I will share with you a different theme. From now on I think I will share the museums I visit in this way, by dividing them into themes. For example, there were everyday objects and sculptures. Bu bölüme Roma dönemine ait harika günlük eşyalardan bahsederek başlayacağım. Sizin ilginizi en çok ne çekti bilmiyorum ama tepsi ve parfüm amphorası benim çok ilgimi çekti. Tepsiyi ilk gördüğümde onun bir ayna olduğunu düşünmüştüm o kadar güzel görünüyor ki. Sadece tepsinin hasar görmemiş olduğunu düşünün, günümüzde bile herkes bunu severek kullanılmaz mıydı? Camdan yapıldığı için hasar görmüş olması çok doğal ancak hasar görmemiş halini de görmeyi çok isterdim. O şişe(amphora) parfüm için çok büyük görünüyor. Acaba parfümü günümüze göre çok fazla mı kullanıyorlardı yoksa çok uzun süre kullandıkları için mi böyle bir şişeye sahiplerdi?
Bu gördüğünüz bronzdan yapılmış bir filozof başı . Milattan sonraya ait ve aşırı detaylı. Bir önceki postumda @bemier bana adeta tarih dersi vermişti ve bana göre bir filozof olabilir. Belki bu kafanın kime ait olduğunu bile biliyordur haha. Şaka bir yana bu heykelde en beğendiğim detay gözlerdi. Aşırı gerçekçi görünüyor.
Bu gördüğünüz bir Oinochoe. Bir çeşit şarap sürahisi. Kapağında bir figür bile var. Bir soyluya ait olduğunu düşünüyorum. Tıpkı bir kılıç kabzası gibi görünüyor. Geçmişte bu kadar çok havalı şey olduğunu tahmin etmezdim. Müze gezmenin bu yanını da çok seviyorum. source
İşte iki havalı heykel daha. Daha önce yunusa binen bir Eros görmüş müydünüz? Ben görmemiştim ve oldukça da neşeli görünüyor. Bir tanrı için çok sıradan bir aktivite olsa gerek. İkinci heykel de bir mısırlı rakip. Tıpkı filmlerde ya da belsellerde gördüğümüz gibi değil mi? Tabi ki izlediğimiz şeyleri rastgele yapmıyorlar. Bu tarz tarihi şeylere dayanıyor.
Heykeller her zaman devasa olmaz değil mi? İşte minik büstler. Hepsi çok güzel değil mi? Peki, favoriniz hangisi? Benim favorim ikinci fotoğraftaki ikili Nemesis heykelciği. Kanatları bile var! Diğer heykelcikler ve büstlerin saçları da çok güzel yapılmış, hayran olunası.
Bu Arkaizan Artemis, tanrıların farklı dinlerde ve bölgelerde farklı yorumlandığını söylemiştim. Bugüne kadar sizinle pek çok Artemis paylaştım. Bunun hangi bölgeye ait olduğunu bilmiyorum. Bilenler varsa yorumlarda paylaşabilir.
Bu fotoğraflardaki günlük eşyalardan hangisi en çok ilginizi çekti? Benimkini muhtemelen tahmin edemeyeceksiniz. Çünkü arkaplanda kalıyor. Bunu söyledikten sonra terazi olduğunu anlamışsınızdır. Bu tarz şeylerin 2000 yıl öncesine ait olması beni çok şaşırtıyor. Yaklaşık 15 yıl önce falan hala bu terazileri kullanıyorduk, beni şaşırtan şey bu. Yani terazi teknolojisinde onları yeni geçtik XD Ayrıca kaşıkların şekli de çok garip görünüyor. Bununla bir çorbayı içemezsiniz ki. Daha çok tek dişli çatallara benziyorlar lol.
Müzede biraz daha ilerleyelim ve sizinle Priapos heykelini paylaşmama izin verin. Evet gördüklerinizden biraz daha farklı, bunu kabul ediyorum. Bu tanrı doğurganlığı, cinselliği, bolluğu ve bereketi temsil ediyor. Belki de bu heykelin şeklini açıklıyordur. Tıpkı Kibele gibi. Bir rahip ve rahibe heykeli, eski çağlarda din insanlarına ne kadar değer verildiğinin bir göstergesi daha. Günümüzden daha çok değer verildiğini düşünüyorum.
Mükemmel bir Zeus heykeli daha. Sizlere Zeus ya da Afrodit heykellerinin olmadığı bir müzenin gerçek bir müze olmadığını söylemiştim. Bu müzede bunlardan bir sürü var. Genelde cinsel organları zarar görmüş oluyor ama bu Zeus oldukça sağlıklı görünüyor, en azından tek parça XD
Harika bir heykel daha. Hygeia'nın ne tanrısı olduğunu tahmin etmek ister misiniz? Hijyen sözcüğünü anımsatıyor değil mi? Kendisi sağlık ve temizlik tanrıçası. Aynı zamanda tıp tanrıçasının kızı. Tıp tanrıçasının kızına yakışır bir tanrıça. İnternetten araştırırsanız o karnındaki şeyin aslında bir yılan olduğunu görürsünüz. Temizlikle bağdaştırılabilir mi? Bu arada bu heykelin detaylarını da es geçmek istemiyorum. Özellikle elbisesinin ipleri hayran olunası cinsten. Bu kadar detaylı heykel yapmaları bana göre sanata verdikleri değeri ispatlıyor. Sonuçta o elbise bu kadar detaylı olmayabilirdi ama o zaman bu kadar güzel görünmezdi. source
Müzede sadece insan ya da tanrı heykelleri yok. İşte bir yılan heykeli! Aşırı gerçekçi görünüyor. Gerçek hayatta bir yılanın bu şekilde durabileceğini zannetmesem de bunu söyleyebilirim. Türkçe'de "yılanın başını küçükken ezeceksin" diye bir atasözü var. Bu yılan oldukça büyük olsa da birisi başını ezmiş 😂
1800 yıl önce masalar nasıl görünüyordu merak ediyorsanız işte bir örnek. Yine oldukça elegant görünüyor. Sanatsal görünüşlerden asla ödün vermiyorlar. Günümüzde de kullanılabilir, sadece nedense çok soğuk görünüyor ve bu insanı çok üşütürmüş gibi, özellikle kışın ancak masaya dokunmadığım için soğuk olup olmadığını bilmiyorum. Bazı insanların tarihi eserlere dokunduğunu görüyorum ama ben 2000 yıllık miraslara saygı duyuyorum ve onlara dokunmamayı tercih ediyorum.
Sanırım ikinci bölümü de burada sonlandıracağım çünkü bir sonraki bölümde sizlerle farklı bir tema paylaşacağım. Bundan sonra gezdiğim müzeleri bu şekilde paylaşmayı düşünüyorum, temalara bölerek. Eski Yunan -Roma tarihi gerçekten hayranlık uyandırıcı özellikle heykelleriyle . Hep kitaplarda okuduğum varlıkları görmek eminim çok güzel olur, miteoloji çok güzel ve gizemli bir dünya 🧐🌸

Oinochoe, the wine jug is attracting me the most it is looking classic and it definitely belong to elite class. I am noticing that many of the sculptures and statues are headless or just have heads, I think it's because of effects of surroundings,humans and environment. Moreover, it is crazy to see that they Also aware of perfume( interesting).
Yeah it was pretty attractive. I spend some time to look at it.
