Today is the last day of the celebration of the Havana 2025 Bicycle Festival, which began on March 6. The initiative to hold this festival seems incredible to me, since its main objective is to promote bicycles as a means of transportation that allows us to have a healthier lifestyle and is also environmentally friendly.
En el día de hoy se está realizando la última jornada de celebración del Festival de la Bicicleta La Habana 2025, el cual comenzó el pasado 6 de marzo. Quizás los lectores de este post consideren que les llega la información un poco tarde, pero la buena noticia es que este evento se está celebrando de forma anual en Cuba; así que desde ya pueden saber de qué va el evento y reservar un espacio en sus agendas para el año 2026.
La iniciativa de realizar este festival me parece increíble, pues su principal objetivo radica en la promoción de la bicicleta como un medio de transporte que nos permite tener un estilo de vida más saludable y además, es amigable con el medio ambiente.
The venue for the event is Estudio 50, located on Calle Lugareño between Carlos III Avenue and Almendares Street, in the capital's Plaza district. This place is an incredible space that looks like a giant warehouse, as it used to be a mirror factory.
The project that takes place in this place was created more than 10 years ago, with the fundamental mission of promoting professional photography, although it has been expanding to other artistic manifestations. Undoubtedly, this is one of the places worth visiting in Havana, as it always has something interesting to show. I remember the first time I was there, I was able to enjoy an alternative music concert, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.
La sede del evento es en el Estudio 50, ubicado en la calle Lugareño entre la avenida Carlos III y la calle Almendares, en el capitalino municipio Plaza. Este lugar es un espacio increíble, que parece un almacén gigante, pues antiguamente hubo en ese lugar una fábrica de espejos.
El proyecto que se lleva cabo en este sitio fue creado hace más de 10 años, con la misión fundamental de promover la fotografía profesional, aunque se ha ido ampliando a otras manifestaciones artísticas. Sin dudas, ese es de los lugares que merece la pena visitar en La Habana, pues siempre tiene algo interesante para mostrar. Recuerdo que la primera vez que estuve allí, pude disfrutar de un concierto de música alternativa, y el ambiente que se respiraba era muy agradable.

Among the sponsors of the event is the Ha'Bici project, which has a very nice mission, with which I was very happy to know that they work towards reducing emissions of polluting gases in the city.
The event includes many interesting activities for people of all ages. From the moment you enter Studio 50 you can enjoy good live music, and the exhibition of various models of bicycles.
Volviendo al tema del festival, les cuento que en esta ocasión tuvo como lema: Por una movilidad sostenible e inclusiva. Entre los patrocinadores del evento se encuentra el proyecto Ha'Bici, el cual tiene una misión muy bonita, con la que me sentí muy feliz al saber que trabajan en pos de la disminución de las emisiones de gases contaminantes en la ciudad.
El evento incluye muchas actividades interesantes para personas de todas las edades. Desde que entras al Estudio 50 se puede disfrutar de buena música en vivo, y de la exhibición de varios modelos de bicicletas.
Starting in the afternoon, bicycles are available for rent by the hour for those interested. The atmosphere of the place is a constant invitation to take a ride, because in addition, cyclists from all over are arriving, and many of them even have the ability to do incredible pirouettes. One of the guys who is part of the organization team of the festival told me that the visitor who does not know how to ride a bike, has the possibility to learn there.
They also sell some souvenirs related to the festival, and related artwork is on display, a considerable number of which are posted on Instagram.
A partir del horario de la tarde, comienza el alquiler de las bicicletas por hora para las personas interesadas. El ambiente del lugar constituye una invitación constante a dar un paseo, porque además, van arribando ciclistas de todas partes, e incluso muchos de ellos tienen habilidades para hacer piruetas increíbles. Uno de los chicos que forma parte del equipo de organización del festival me comentó que el visitante que no sepa montar en bici, tiene la posibilidad de aprender allí.
También venden algunos recuerdos relacionados con el festival, y se exponen obras de arte relacionadas, un número considerable de las cuales se cuelgan en Instagram.
