Winter is coming and we should be prepared

in Worldmappin2 months ago

‘Winter is coming and we shiuld be prepared!’ Said the local granny of a small town in Manali. As soon as the autumn ends and it is getting colder day by day, people of the mountains prepare themselves so that they can survive during the freezing cold months of the year.

I am living in a small village of Manali from last 4 years and I have started to learn how the mountain people manage all the things which will help them in the hard times.

These people store everything so that they do not have to roam around for food or wood when its snow everywhere. These people work hard for the whole year but when its winter season, they pack themselves inside their houses and keep their animals inside as well. But they make sure they have the supplies with them for the next 4 months.

They start storing woods by the end of mansoon season and same with the grass as well. They dry the grass for the animals so that they can feed them during the winter.

They start to clear the fields as well for the new corp. These people are really hard working and they know all the surviving skills which makes the hard time a lot easier than it usually is.

Life on the mountain may seem very beautiful. But it is not that easy. It is beautiful to live on the mountains but only if you are ready for the challenges and keep that in mind that it will be hard and you have to do it by yourself.

Thanks for reading my blog. Have a wonderful day!

Namaste!

Thanks my friend 😊

The preparation seems so heavy, as always in a rural area, good job.
