Maybe it's human psychology, if not at least it's the same with me, if you love to dine out and travel often to eat out, your mind prioritizes the quality of food while making plans, so the place where you liked the food most will always come to your mind first. This becomes mandatory especially in the case of brunch buffet, lunch buffet, high tea or dinner buffet. Something similar was going on with me, I liked the buffet of a place so much that whenever I made a plan, my steps would always go to that place and this place was Monal Restaurant in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan. I will zmention it in another blog sometime but today I had finally decided that no matter what, I will travel to another restaurant instead of Monal and enjoy the high tea there.
I liked a restaurant in Kohsar market of capital Islamabad which is located in F sector, locked the location in mind and went to this restaurant for high tea at 3:30 in the afternoon, the name of the restaurant was Tuscany and its reviews were very good. It was also recommended by many friends, especially if you want to eat something new instead of the traditional cuisine, Tuscany can be an ideal place for this. Before entering this restaurant, let me also tell you that the difference between Monal and Tuscany is quite clear and the difference is visible even before entering the restaurant. Monal buffet is available all week while in Tuscany you will get high tea only on the last three days of the week i.e. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
As soon as I reached the restaurant, after barely a minute of waiting, the buffet started. Since I preferred the indoor seating due to the cold, I grabbed a plate and approached the food items before the rush. And after filling the first plate, I came to my reserve table, where I was pleasantly surprised to see the complimentary drink Mint Margarita. Here, let me tell you one more thing that Mint Margarita is given as a complimentary drink in both Monal and Tuscany. You can order as much as you want.
The first food I was looking for was fish, but I didn't see it in the first go, but I saw prawns and I put them on the plate. Apologies here because in the first go I was in a rush so I couldn't take a picture of the fish finger and prawns and later I didn’t remember to take a picture but both things were very well made, fish fingers were served with fries. By taste I will give 10 out of 10 marks to both these food items.
Chicken Lollipop: It is usually called Chicken Drumsticks in other restaurants but in Tuscany it is called Chicken Lollipop, the taste was also very good, I would give it 9 out of 10 marks.
Baked Chicken: Baked chicken here was also a new and tasty dish for me, it was done in the same way as pizza is baked, but there was a lot of cheese in it and eating cheese would quickly kill one's appetite, so I decided to taste it in last, taste wise I would give it 8 out of 10 marks.
Other than that, there were many food items but here I will mention the Honey Wings, they were very good in taste, in terms of taste marks they get 9 out of ten in my opinion. There was also salad bar in which you will find creamy fruit chaats and plain fruit chaats, I definitely ate these but in very small quantities. The dessert section was not so big, there were strawberry mousse, bread pudding, pastries in this Section, I found this section an average one. Mixed tea, black coffee and green tea are served at the table by asking the waiter.
Feedback: Food items were very good as per taste but very few food items were offered at this price. No barbeque was there which is the lifeblood of any buffet. The salad bar was also very limited. The dessert section was very limited, so you don't get much choice. The big thing that it was an overpriced buffet with these food items, we paid about 2000 Pakistani rupees per person, which is 9 US dollars but yes because it is an Italian Restaurant I was expecting limited food items but over all taste of all the items was awesome, if you live in Pakistan or visit Pakistan I will suggest you must go Tuscany.
