Doing good?
I am very excited to post my blog as Pinmapple is one of my favorite communities on Hive, and I often read tour blogs here. My exams hadn't allowed me to go out for a long time, even though I was really eager to travel and share my own tour blog. But there is an end to every thing so did my exams had. This was the time to plan some adventurous and fun trip.
Seven of us friends decided to plan a visit to a nice place, but we couldn't go far. So, we decided to visit Shahdara, also known as Shahdara Picnic Point. The good thing was that it was only 7 km away from our university. We asked one of our day scholar friends to bring food from home. She happily agreed as her mom is a good chef and is always ready to make food.
Shahdara Picnic Point is a wonderful place if you want to spend quality time with your family or friends. The place is mainly attractive because of a stream which has a striking cold water even in summer days. It is covered with huge mountains from all sides. When we arrived, we saw that stream running alongside Shahdara Road, with water as cold as ice. We headed down there.
The locals there have set up chairs and serve food to boost their business, allowing people to relax and enjoy. However, they charge a lot for this service. If you plan to go there to enjoy, it's advisable to bring your own food. That's what we also did. We went down and got to know that if you will sit on the chairs you would have to pay for it or at least order something from the locals. This was something really weird snd discouraging but we found something better.
We found some rocks having proper shape to sit on and water was flowing in mid of them. The place had such good vibes that we decided to eat first and then explore. We also made a salad because a meal doesn't feel complete without it. Another friend suggested we get some gari for the food, which turned out to be quite expensive.
All set and now it was time to have the meal. The meal included..
Chicken handi, macronies and salad with rotis (if you are confused about what is roti, it is a round shaped thin layer kind of bread made up of wheat). The food really was delicious and we praised the taste of chicken handi which our day scholar friend brought from home.
After getting free from the food and washing our hands from the stream water, We started heading upwards. One thing to note is that while you can sit barefoot by the stream, you'll need strong shoes for climbing up as it's a hilly area. One of our friends experienced this firsthand; she had to sit for half an hour when we reached the top because her feet were hurting badly. From up here the views below was clear
You can clearly see how the chairs are placed in the water and yeah, i have some more clear pictures of that sitting area which i captured when i was there.
These locals have taken up the control of shahdara valley completely and no one has any control over them. Well, coming back to the upper area we found a proper restaurant here.
They had taken advantage of the beautiful scenery, but I knew it would be expensive too. Although they had a good sitting plan but still it was going to be really expensive.
Anyway, the beautiful place inspired all my friends to take pictures, but while clicking their pictures, my main focus was on the natural scenery. 😂
Here is a secret that if you people want to avoid the crowd over here at this beautiful place try to make your plan on the weekdays as you know everyone is busy on weekdays and they will never find time to visit such a picnic point. Everyone comes here at the weekends to make them memorable and beautiful. This was the idea of one of my friends otherwise i was of the opinion that we should visit here on weekend.
I also got to know that this upper area was a barren place at one time but these locals who came here made this place green and gave it a living vibe. Well, some benefit to this place from those locals.
How could it be possible that we girls go somewhere and return without group photos 🥲.
Well, now was the time to go back down and return to our hostel because it was enough of this wonderful and amazing tour to shahdara valley. We again visited that stream and washed our feet. If you people want to you can also drink that water and i bet it is more clean than any mineral water out there.
